Normaly yes, but this week no lol I work for one of the largest companies in the world and in a department that is almost non existant this week (my manager told them all to take leave because it would be 'quiet'). I have never been so busy and have way too much to do. I want to do a good job, but my co worker didn't finish her work before she left and didn't tell me about it. It all has to be finished by today. Grr.

At least next week is a new year and a new period for us at work. Its all good :)

nice coworker.

make sure to leave her a note of thanks = thumb tack on her chair. :-)

oh i like how you think lol

When she left on Friday she had somethings left which I knew and said I would look after for her. That stuff just needed to be finished off, so was easy. However in that pile I fould three things that hasnt been started at all. I only found them at 4 pm yesterday and even if I had found them earlier, I still wouldnt have had the time.

I am so behind at work because she took a week off a few weeks back and not because of this I get stuck doing the unpaid overtime for it. That sucks.

who says you have to finish her work?

you can just do the stuff you agreed to and plead ignorance to the rest? thats not fair.. hope your boss rewards you for this extra work.

Well we have the same role with no real line drawn that says what is hers or mine. We both decided on what parts we would each take however. Today is the deadline of when things have to be done by so without her its 100% my responsibility. Thats the probably with our jobs, if one of us doesnt pull our weight, the other has to do more.

She has been there a lot longer than me and I am told that she used to work really long hours because there was too much work and not enough people. I think she is now just sick of it and thinks the company owes her something. I don't care what hours she did back then, because I didnt work here them, but I do care what she does now.

She is an excellent worker, but her heart isn't in it anymore. She wonders off for hours at a time and because she is the one that has been there the longest, gets away with a lot more.

She hates our manager though and he wants her out, so it wont be long till she quits. I don't want her to quit though because I don't know enough. But if and when that happens it will make me worth a lot more to the company.

My manager is on leave for the next week and then I am away so I can't even bring this up yet. We do have our yearly reviews soon though :)

yeah, I hate work sometimes.

I busted my butt when i first got here, but after a series of non-acknowledgements, and certain people umm, "taking over" projects that I had tried to spearhead, I lost my pro-active nature. I have sort of been coasting since then.

Good news, since the merger, I get 100% match on 401k, and I now get a year end bonus of up to 5%, sweetness. Oh, and the cost of my health insurance went down, more sweetness (guess adding 30,000 employees changes the group rate...)
