Have you looked on eBay yet?
There are plenty of people selling their used cameras - I sold two of my old cameras there.

I'd recommend a Canon - I've owned five of them (A100, A70, G5, SD400, 350D), and have been impressed by all of them. Probably one of the A series would be good, one of the ones with optical zoom and manual controls. The current models are all listed on their website, and you could find some of the older ones on ebay.

Well I have an Olympus D-600L I can send Adam. It was given to me by another DPCer (scalvert), with the condition that I pass it on to another member when I got a better camera.
It's only a 1.3Mp, but look on that page and see that Joey did some pretty amazing work with it.
I managed a few decent challenge shots too.

Send me a PM with an address and I'll send it along if you want it. Or should I say Santa will..

Edit to add that it will include the SM card reader, though it doesn't have a mini-USB cable.
Also included is the Olympus Driver & Utility Software CD v.2.5

Two words..."Summer Job"
That's how I got enough money to buy my D70.

I have an old 1.3 megapixel camera that I could give to someone who can use it too. Let me know. Shipping might not be until after I get back from vacation though.

I wish you had posted this a week ago. I just let my Sony go at bargain basement prices for all I included with it.

Brad, he who calls other names must be one to recognise one... in your case he-who-should-be-ashamed-and-never-respected made a dire mistake...

Hi all, I just returned from some Xmas travel and wanted to thank everyone who responded to my request to help a new member of this community. My student Adam will soon receive, PS Elements, PSP 8.0, a camera, a camera bag, a DPC membership, and probably several other things I'm forgetting.

In the spirit of the season, the community of photogs here comes through. You guys are great.

I Love this "pay it forward" or Pass it on with cameras!! I do that with my puters...when I upgrade I give my old one to someone without on the condition that they pass it on ( if it is still worth it)
Now, that said, when I do finally get a better cam, no one will want this one !!( poor sad little hp) But I will promise to pass on the new one when I get a third ! haha
