"Precious Moments"
Precious hugs and kisses
from my dainty little princess
melts all my stress away.
Precious smiles and giggles
as I tickle she wiggles
cherished little times of play.
Precious love and affection
a trusting heart for protection
is my duty for all of my days.
Precious moments and every
single little memory
will remain in my heart for always.

Wow! Ken, I think it is totally perfect. Everything flows together very well, I even like the frame and wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing it, this is what it's all about. I know your Grandpa will love it. (I would hang it on my wall) Thanks Jeff |

"The Willow, The Ladder and The Corn"
The willow, the ladder and the corn
are waiting nearby a country farm,
to fulfill the destiny of a painter, born
to paint the beauty of this scenic charm.
The ladder only leans against a willow,
it has no place to go and nothing to do.
The corn is only seasonal but will grow
another year after the snow and cold is through.
The willows stand there with a grand attention
as if they defend the corn and the ladder.
The green and white ground has compassion
as if to say this place of beauty matters.
The weeds and the snow try to reassure
the three friends that all hope is not torn
but soon this hidden scene will ever endure
once the painter, paints the willow, the ladder and the corn.

"Fight the Cold"
Cold and worn
with hands of leather
he fights for warmth
against the weather.
A look of fear
overcomes his face
no shining joy
of a child's grace
only a hopeless stare
through innocent eyes
have swelled the care
of his hungry cries
He wonders when
or what he'll eat
he walks alone
on shoeless feet
these feet a troubled
path have trod.
He quietly asks
am I a child of God?
So who will tend
this little lamb?
Who will love
and comfort him?
Or is he left
to fend for his own
and find a small fire
to fight the cold.
Jeff

You're a little early--I'm not going for another 12 hours. ;-) I'm flying to the Chicago area tomorrow for Christmas to visit my parents, brother, and my brother's family. I'll see y'all when I get back on the 1st (will have spotty internet access there at best).
Nordlys, hoping the plane doesn't go "bumpity bump bump" too much!

Is there a pic for this poem?
I am still working on this one lol
Teddy bear has
his cap on his head
sleepy eyes saying
its time for bed
pillows all patted
books have been read
kisses all given
prayers must be said.

Jeff - the one about the ladder, corn and willow is just stunning. I almost felt inspired to write one and then read yours. Truly a beautiful piece of written art!

the time of mist-
morning tide
lost in reality
dreams have died
heading out to no man's land
living on water
no place to stand
as I go through motions
with each day the same
i'm backwards, forwards
stuck , framed
all in a day's work
beginning to end
nothing goes differently
no change 'round the bend
so, mist that covers
pray shroud my soul
with hope and shelter
from this life's hell hole
