"Grandpa's Place"

Take me back to a simple time
where simplicity gave peace of mind.
With family and friends to reminisce,
surrounded by nature's heavenly bliss.
Overlooking a valley of white pine trees,
the refreshing touch of a mountain breeeze.
The row of chairs where stories were told
speak of memories that my heart still holds.
A chance to sit with Grandpa awhile,
The crack of his joke always made me smile.
These special times call my mind to retrace
and remember the yellow house
that was Grandpa's Place

This has such interest for me. The "all in a row" sense of it is great. The varied colors of the chairs is a nice splash of contrast. It's like "who sat there," or something like that. This is a great image. The geometry of the architecture with the curve of the chairs makes for some nice eye candy. Isn't it amazing how such an ordinary subject can be so emotive? Well, you pulled it off for sure.

You should have placed much higher, but the trolls were out in this challenge.

To Me, Absolutely stunning, I love it. Your photograph has great range, the lighting is spot on and not one blown highlight. But it goes beyond that. You are showing us were they sit to see a wonderful view instead of showing us the view itself. Very inviting to see a photograph such meaning. And the colors, I cannot say how much I love the contrast between the chairs themselves and the house. If I would of got to this photograph during voting I would of given it a 8. If I could have had the access to what the chairs were there for and the view one could see from them it would of scored a 10. I wish it would of scored higher because there is more in this picture than meets the eye. IMO you picked the right photograph. Congratulations and get a print of this one.

The shadow behind the chairs and the curtains in the windows, offset the sharpness of the rest of the picture. The umbrella to the left seems to sharp when compared to the rest of the photo at that depth.

I think it's great how the house stands out from the hazy background. The additional splash of colour from the chairs really sets it all off.

Cool lighting on what looks like an overcast day. Good contrast of colors. Image doesn't really speak to me though.

Chairs are a strong point of focus in this shot, so it's a shame you've cropped the one on the left.

Why do I like this? The colours, the warmth in the yellows and oranges against the grey. The proportions, the house takes up just the right amount of space, the roof slopes away to give a pleasant balance of sky. There is just enough information, a sprinke of snow on the ground, fog in the sky, wet roof, and that joyous line of chairs. Well observed!

Holy cow. Amazing color and a simply beautiful photograph.

Very nice. Like the misty trees versus the bright house and chairs. Only minor thing - the far left chair needs a little space, (maybe the width of a chair), leading the way everything is pointing. (Just an opinion thou)

not quit THE yellow house (van Gogh) but a balanced mix of colours and lines
crop at the left a bit tight (maybe with a reason)
nice one

I like the contrast here.......Would have been neat to see a little kid looking out the side window.
