Probably right.
1 layer here, as usual...
(assuming the original would be considered a layer.
If not, then no layers - just the original, like I do most edits)

Sheesh, let's clarify something, MISTER Bradley:
I don't have a single document composed of 20 layers. What I do is, I make a new layer from BG and then do pixel editing on that layer; when I have it the way I want it, I merge it down into the BG and then make a new layer from BG again, so I have that new base layer duplicated to work on. By doing this, I just ensure that if I manage to get truly destructive in my editing, I can toss the layer and easily revert to the previous state.
So, by my way of looking at it, if you did sharpening, hue/sat, levels, and curves (for example) this would be 4 layers, even if you did it all on the BG layer and just flew blind and free, which sounds about like you :-) Or, in other words, I mean to say I went through at least 20 distinct STEPS in making the image.
Now, that's a lot of steps, I grant you, and it's probably over-complicated by my demented brain, but there's a reason for it and all will be made clear after the voting :-)
Robt.

Hey Bear, took me lots of layers too. I use the same organization technique you do. |

No use of additional layers for me either I just edited the original file, I have already sent mine in, I have to take advantage of the high speed internet at work because im on 32k dail-up from home, have to use a Wireless modem..
Something strange that happened to me yesterday, I was at a resturant using my iBook that has a built in AIRPORT wireless LAN and suddenly I was connected to the internet via this device. Of cause i realise that I can access un-passworded networks but the strange thing here was there was not a house in sight for maybe 2-300M I wonder how far the range is on these things..

Uh huh - well almost - I'm cheap, but not free.

Guess I like the simplistic approach and just wing it.
Wing it:
v. i.
To perform an act, such as click stuff in Photoshop, without the usual preparation.
To improvise or ad-lib.
To get 11 Ribbons as opposed to 1.

Make that "two": I have a moral ribbon for my sunrise, on which the camera shop had set the time stamp wrong on my spanking-new 20D :-)
Anyway, if you allow the "moral ribbon" we're tied on ribbons since I joined the site, otherwise it's 2:1, so pffffffffft.

Rule 8. No trash talk! This is supposed to be a GROUP activity, and educational, and making it seem ultra-competitive. Even pretend posturing, statements, and name calling, IMHO, detracts.
Take the trash out to the gauntlet. Well, at least if my rules are being followed ;)
Edit: Not to mention it buries any informational content in this thread in trash.

Ok, I PMed you, justin, but that was a bit quick on the confirmation process.
I know Nico has asked, and I'm asking as well, to whoever organizes it, can I have a go a round three, and can you give us just a bit more time than a couple of hours to confirm? Like maybe a day or two?
Cheers

Guess I won't mention anything about bear only using 1/2 of an attack dog then.
I'll behave now. |

Hey, bear's got Karma on his side so I wouldn't mess with him for fear of bad karma in the future...
