....photo by Lynnesite

The photo above was posted earlier in the thread by Lynne aka 'Lynnesite'. It's a terrific photo of one of her mares and is taken into the sun - creating a great moody feel, I think.

Jeff aka 'jsas' gave me the opportunity to write a poem to go with it and I came up with a Sonnet describing what Lynne's photo meant to me. I've included the poem here ....

Life̢۪s tribulations sometimes get us down
creating worries, which burden the day.
Our dark thoughts will furrow our brows; we̢۪ll frown
or be distressed and sad, or cause dismay.

Often, it seems, we are shadowed and jaded
by problems and grief, or riddled with pain.
We can be faceless, lonely, degraded,
dusty, decrepit and selfish, or vain.

But when we smile a smile for each other,
lift up a heart, share a pleasure or gain,
give words of warmth and light to another
then life is loving and worthwhile again.

The sun will shine, the gloom will be shifted.
Sorrows forgotten; moods will have lifted.

Thanks to Lynne for a super photo - and for this opportunity to share in a great thread.

"Chance of Sunshine"

A majestic scene of color and light
a masterful creation, a heavenly sight,
how sweet it is the green and clay,
seem to mingle with a beautiful array.

I would love to run fast along the trail
or dare to fly high as the eagles sail,
to dance among the clouds with a better view
would be a blessed dream come true.

The shadows cover the land as a veil
that covers the bride's beauty and frail,
this great expanse is so vast and fine
there is always that chance of sunshine.

Jeff

Jeff, this is just gorgeous. I am sorry it took so long to reply as I was out of town over the weekend. Still amazed at all the beautiful work in this thread!

"He is a Rolling Stone"

He wants to be a Rolling Stone
the life seems so fulfilling.
The road is hard, the nights are long,
but the thrill is so appealing.

Singing takes him back to another world,
he relives his childhood dreams.
He holds the mic like Mick Jagger would
he loves it when the crowd screams.

Everytime he hears the fans applauding
he says, "I will make it big someday."
So he goes from town to town seeking
satisfaction in the music he plays.

Jeff

Thanks very much Diana, and the sonnet rhythm is very graceful.

Thanks Jeff. That was sweet.. not necessary but sweet :)

If you haven't checked out Jeff's portfolio yet, go take a peek. He has some wonderful shots with interesting post processing. These are some of my favorites.

"I am Sagittarius"

I am Sagittarius
ruled by the planet Jupiter
with an archer's eye
I see the whole picture.
I am full of anxiety
yet optimistic to overcome
I am warm and friendly
and I love to travel some
I am honest, dependable,
tolerant, quite outspoken,
confrontational and knowledgeable.
I am a rebel in haste
lustful with no concentration,
generous without waste,
loyal with an independent construction.
I am cheerful and slightly hypocrictical
windy when it comes to talking
a change of direction is typical,
especially when I am walking
As an element of fire
I am Sagittarius.

How about one for one of your own. The title that came to mind with this image was 'My Daddy'.

This is my simple attempt at a poem from my pic requested by Colette.

Simple hugs and kisses
from my precious little princess
melts all my stress away.

Simple smiles and giggles
as I tickle she wiggles
cherished little moments of play

Simple love and affection
a trusting heart for protection
is my duty all of my days.

I will keep working on it. I think it is rough. I struggled with this more than any of the other poems, you wouldn't think I would struggle but I did. I live it every day so I guess it is hard to put it into words. I will work the title in some how Colette lol Jeff

I was trying to think of a poem for this one but couldn't even come up with the first line. I think you've done very well even if it is draft.

I would love a poem for it from someone else. A different point of view is good.

I'll keep thinking. I may come up with something. No promises though.

Another title idea I had was 'Precious Moments'.

I am going to let this thread sleep in a sweet slumber. I have enjoyed writing for so many pics and meeting so many awesome people. I may get bored again lol. Thank you Jeff

PS I will keep an eye open for it though.
