Huh? Are you talking about my split personalities? (I'm certainly not the one Ken, ermmm, Art_ROFLMAO knocked up...again!)

Got mine in!

Be prepared to weep at the shear beauty I pulled from this image! If y'all could see my entry, you'd pull yours and forfeit before voting starts! :-)

Really interested to see what everyone else has done!

Well, I'm completely prepared to get my butt kicked with this one. I've been knocked out with a cold and really haven't been able to work on like I had wanted to. But in all honesty, I don't think I could have really done it justice. That was a tough one and the fact the I'm going up against bear, well that's just the topper on the cake. :-) Anyways, it should be in your email Neil. Thanks again! :-)

This is certainly going to be very interesting - I can't wait to see what others did with this. I'm sure mine will probably bring up the rear, but it's been fun! :-)

The file's too big. With my crummy dial-up it would take over 2 hours to download.

I've sent you a new file <400KB. I set compression to 77 quality factor, it's < 1/10 the size but you should not see a visible difference.

Don't be too sure about that! I might be your competition for the brown. I finished late last night and will be submitting tonight when I get home from work.

only 3 more hours left for last minute edits!! ;-)

This will be interesting to vote on. Same pic, so, we're voting strictly on the editing. Initially, I was thinking ranking them against each other and assuming the scale goes 1-10 (or 1-5) placing them in rank order (not that 1 is a bad edit, just that I thought the others were better). With 12 contestants, and multiple entries by several of those, that system won't work. I guess just voting like normal challenges will be the best way, huh?

I would also assume that contestants can not vote... Butt I know what usually happens when I ass*u*me! LOL
12/13/2005 10:00:30 PM · #121
hadn't really thought of that...

What does everyone think?

12/13/2005 10:13:04 PM · #122
I know it's fine with me....
Hadn't planned on voting...

Sure you can vote, why not?

Votes are 1-5, 5 being the best. Votes are anonymous. Please vote only once per photo.

The only kink I haven't worked out yet is the comments. Comments require that you register on the site (it's my site, so don't worry). But the comments will be visible to all. So if you were to comment on someone else's photo, people will be pretty sure it's not yours, spoiling anonymity a bit.

So here's what I recommend. If you want to comment, when you register, don't use a username that we'll recognize. After the close of voting you can post your username, so people can see who commented.

Of course, if you are not part of the contest, you can use your own username.

Actually, if you email your usernames to me, then after the challenge, I probably can change them to your real name. Though I don't promise I'll keep the gallery there. It's kind of a scratch installation. We'll see though if we want to use it again.

Some people sent me their editing steps (as I requested, thanks). I debated letting those show under the photos. But since not everyone has them, perhaps we'll hold off on that too.

Ok folks, the time has come to vote. Voting is anonymous, but if you want to leave a comment, you have to register (it's my site, and no, I won't spam you). Participants, see my last note for a suggestion about that.

Voting ends Thursday night at midnight, EST.

Nice work, man. Interestingly enough, the colors look more saturated to me (on my image) than what I *thought* I had sent you... There are some very interesting interpretations here :-)
