I just had a great salad. Iceberg lettuce, tomato, shrimp, hard boiled egg, croutons and thousand island dressing. It's been awhile since I had a salad like that and it was so good, I thought I would share. ...the fact that I ate it, I mean - not the salad itself - it's gone.
Post your favorite salad here (cuz if this site aint about salad, what is it about??). |

im going to have a cabage and noodle salad soon as i can get my lazy butt into the kitchen.
Raw cabbage, smashed up instant noodels (raw too) the seasoning pack from the noodles and olive oil is the basic backbone.
It sounds nasty, but it is really good. |

My mom used to make something like that, but it was when I was young and afraid of cabbage so I never ate it. My favorite salads are pretty much any with fruit and/or nuts in them. Good stuff. And I'll rarely eat anything but vinaigrette dressing. There's a restaurant near here that has this chili pepper vinaigrette that's amazing...man, now I'm getting hungry. Good thing dinner's in the oven. |

I make a weird Taco Salad --
Original dorito's and miracle whip to are the main flavor ingredients-
Crush the dorito's by hand and mix in the miracle whip--
Add some taco-flavored hamburger (not too much), lettuce, tomatoes, and then cheddar on top..
Its awesome-- in fact sometimes I just crush Dorito's and mix in the Salad Dressing and eat it all by itself..

Ooooh yeah! I didn't have any meat other than shrimp, but I did have shredded cheddar on it too. When I was in the Navy, there were a couple bases I was at that had award winning mess halls (resaurants, for you landlubbers) and I loved the salad bar! Lettuce was always the last thing I put on, just so I could still call it a salad. |

Could I substitute sour cream for the miracle whip? |

Good thing salad is diet food, or I'd really be putting on the weight!

Minus the shrimp and I'm THERE. That's my favorite salad.
Next on the list is lettuce, chicken, bacon, and honey mustard dressing.
I just had Israeli salad for dinner - it's simply diced tomatoes, green and red peppers, and cucumbers.
Strange topic, but what the sprouts... ;)

On a Side Note:
This salad goes great with my "Good Shit" Dip..
Good Shit Dip is 2 cans of Hormel Chili (w/out bean) and a stick of Velveeta melted in..
So freaking good... |

Red Onion, lime juice, feta and watermelon, and I can't remember what else is in there... Great summer mediterranean style salad... Yum
And properly made Caeser salad, with the raw egg, in the wooden bowl, garlic, anchovies, and proper croutons.
Or, if you've got it, any summer salad with stuff straight from the garden. I miss having a garden *sniff* |

With about 90 grams of saturated fat and 5000mg of sodium it better be good! |

I like a good pizza salad. After you go to Pizza Hut and eat 'til full, take the left-overs and put them in a ziploc bag, a quart bag should work fine. Put the bag into the fridge at about a 6 setting on your cold dial, then let that sit for about....well over night. The next morning take the bag out and all the pizza by this time has morphed into one. Dump the contents of the bag into a big bowl you can heat to the desired temp or just dig in and then just call it a pizza salad. Repeat if there is another bag.

| Seems like my salad is a bit different. I usually get iceburg lettuce, carrots, olives, tuna, and more vegetables. I'm nore sure if I even like vegetables, but I need to stay on a healthy routine so I can fully indulge myself in ice cream and cakes and CHOCOLATE. Well, the unpure chocolate form. |

When I was little we often had finely shredded carrots with raisins or Waldorf Salad (apples, celery, walnuts); I think these were just dressed with mayonnaise.
I also like potato salads, both the cold American style and the hot 'n tangy German style. |
