Hi,

Since all of our images are available to browse via the gallery and given the current emphasis on the site towards giving out comments, would it be possible to have some sort of indicator against an image in your profile that shows it has recieved a new comment?

Maybe something as simple as making the comment total for that image red, to indicate that there is an unviewed comment.

Or an even easier way... Could the "Date of last comment" be on the photo list on our profile page? That'd be fairly easy for us to track and probably not overly difficult to program.

Just a thought...

I think the next feature in line for comment enhancement will be one suggested here a few weeks ago (by konador I believe)... basically, it'll be a preference to have comments e-mailed to you a) anytime b) only after voting or c) never. I think it was a really good idea and shouldn't be too hard to implement.

After that, I think we'll consider some type of 'what's happening that involves you' display... but I haven't quite figured that one out yet :)

I know you've asked and asked for this, and it's not that I don't hear you. I think I've explained before that the easier we make it to private message someone about a comment, the more likely it is that people will abuse it. There are already some people before. I've said it before, but if I leave 30 comments in a challenge, I don't want 20 private messages thanking me, scolding me, or otherwise acknowledging me for my comments.

Personally I like the fact you have to go to the profile page to send a PM. You get a rough idea of who you're talking to first, and if you're really unlucky you get to see what they look like too ; )

GeneralE: if you shift-click the link to the profile page it will open in a new window so that you don't have to leave the photo page.
