What do you think? Do you like any of these? BTW the one with the snowmen I made those out of old washcloths! It's me, my husband, and my 2 little boys! LOL Please click on the photos to see them in their original size to see all the wonderful detail! Thanks for your time!

I prefer the snowman shot. Forgive my ignorance, but I don't understand the dried slice of fruit. I find it unappealing. The Santa one is ok, but I find teh snowmen have the most holiday appeal, especially since it correlates to your family.
Happy holidays! |

I was wondering about the dried orange slice too.
I like the snowman one the best. |

Well, I live in the South, and in Tennessee a "country" tree has dried orange slices. It gives the tree a wonderful scent, and looks quite lovely on the tree when they're all together. This is actually a very old tradition, I've never actually met anyone who didn't know about putting dried orange slices on a Christmas tree! |

I think the snowmen are very cute, my favorite of the three. I'm not super crazy about the font though, it's a little too busy for my tastes. |

I think the snowmen is the best one as well. I had never heard of the dried oranges on christmas trees either....sounds like a haven for roaches! |

We also string popcorn and cranberries to hang on our tree. Have you guys never heard of that, either? Our family loves homemade things, I guess we're just like that! LOL As far as roaches go...um...if you get bugs from having dried orange slices on your Christmas tree, than you have bigger cleanliness problems than the oranges!! |

I have heard of stringing popcorn...not sure about the cranberries. I never even saw a roach until I moved to the south! Yuck! Matter of fact...my first night here a HUGE palmetto bug came in through the front (we were unpacking some stuff) and I screamed like a girl!!! I know some people say they're not 'officially' a cockroach....they're a cockroach to me! :)

I really like the snowman card! I love the sparkle of light you used. Almost like a wisp of snow blowing. What did you use to create that? |

Add me as well - Is it just orange or does it work with an assortment of fruit :-)) I guess I grew up where Christmas is the middle of summer, so maybe it loses something in translation - you don't leave much out of the fridge before it well er.. loses it's appeal. |

Well actually what you do is slice some fresh oranges, lay them in a cookie sheet and bake all day in a 150 degree oven. When they are sliced thin they look like stained glass when the christmas lights hit them. Oh, and they smell incredible!!! I made the "snow" on the snowmen card by using a brush plugin from someone who custom made it. I just found it on another forum and downloaded it. Its really neat for a lot of things. It's the same brush I used to do the background in the "Galactic Portrait" I posted on here a few days ago! Thanks everyone for your comments! |
