If you want to get on Site Council you should never say anything in these forums (or at Fanatics) that could possibly offend anyone. Be as politically correct as you possibly can. Never speak against any person's image, style, or technique; any challenge suggestions or website requests; never complain about challenge results, or question decisions of the SC, especially regarding DQs or proposed rules changes. Be in favor of anything presented as "an idea to improve dpc" no matter how cockamamie it may be. Never post to a forum on any topic that could be the least bit controversial until you see which way the wind's blowing, then go with the flow. If you feel compelled to speak on a controversial issue try to avoid appearing to advocate for one side or the other; make it seem like you are just adding information to the debate. Be very careful in what you say regarding any ideas for changes that would make it harder to cheat in the challenges, supporting these will make you lots of enemies. It's probably a bad idea to become known as a person who makes requests for DQ/validation while you're voting because enforcing the rules is a lot of work for SC. You can get away with being lukewarm in supporting anonymity but always go hard in support of creativity. It will help if you post to the forums regularly to give the impression that you are on here a lot of the time, but your posts don't have to be too intelligent or logical because they don't want anybody smarter than them on there. Being a little bit arrogant is OK but keep it to small doses until you're chosen, then you can let it all hang out. And try to develope a reputation as a person who can keep a secret. If you get selected, don't expect to have any influence until you've been on there for a quite a while, and by the that time you will be willing to just go along with the bunch out of loyalty. You'll need to be prepared to come to the defense of a fellow SC member regardless of what they have done if they are called out in these forums. But you don't have to worry about having to do too much after you get on SC, they never get rid of anyone for any reason.

And whatever you do, don't use sarcasm when talking about dpc or SC. Normal people tend to become more thin-skinned, and lose their sense of humor, after they see how important and prestigeous they are as members of the Site Council.

That was quite funny. You really must have a sore shoulder carrying that huge chip around. :)

I don't think my shoulder is quite as sore as your head. :)

You too?
I am rather relieved too, for many of the same reasons you mentioned Dan, but above all, I like the fact that I can still act like an ass around these parts and be part of the problem, not the cure...

I don't know how or why I got on the SC, I didn't think I would, but I was very happy about it, and still am, and am grateful for those who voted to let me be part of it. I'm enjoying it a lot.

But I wanted to say that I have never felt that I couldn't say what I think or feel either in private or in public. That's just a bunch of bologna.

Right now I want to say that coolhar doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

OK, back to reading Harry Potter.

Never seen mk post eh? You need to hang around the forums more. ;) GeneralE has neeeever offended me! (I'm using that sarcasm thing)

ROFL - However much I have issues with certain SC, this is ridiculous. SC are only SC when they handle the rules and website. I thought that's their job? If you speak against a style, I don't see anyone coming down on you. If you say "Joey's ideas are tired and worn" you are being an asshole to a person.

Yes, they agreed right along with ALL my suggestions - you should especially see their agreement in the block individual users thread. (sarcasm again)

Then they shouldn't have taken kirbic and frisca - cuz I don't hesitate to say they can both keep up with ANYONE on this site intellectually. They were both added recently, so I would assume this argument holds absolutely no merit whatsoever and actually points to the lack of brainpower used in deducting this.

I'm pretty sure Kirbic ranks right next to Magnetic in terms of influence and power on SC.

Hey, I agree...except there IS turnover at SC. Wasn't Gordon and Setzler and EddyG all SC? I'm sure I've forgotten more.

The good General has no sense of humor that I am aware of. ;) However, please see the entry: mk (n). sarcastic and humorous member of SC for a fuller description.

Basically, you're full of it - and this is coming from me! Reputation for confrontation, especially with SC. lol So ... how about some facts? I can disprove half of your comments and I don't even WANT to be able to disprove half your comments.
