Sorry you decided to abandon your pledge. Gonna make a new one to replace It?

Since I somehow got dragged into this, I will add the following:

I really wish the site council would stop locking threads and deleting others posts. We are all adults and we don't need the thought police.

If there is another thread covering a topic, by all means point it out, but why can't the same thing be discussed in 2 places?

If a thread is in rant, anything should go - if you disagree or find it offensive, click the mouse and move on. But don't tell me I'm not entitled to my opinion.

photodude, i have sent you a PM. I wish deapee all the best with any and all pledges or tokens he desires to take on and I hope we can be friends at least as nikon users.

If posts in threads violate the ToS, they will be removed, and that *does* include those in the Rant section. The SC is not here to be the "thought police", just to enforce the Terms of Service.

This was the first post. The rest I cannot recall, but were all just positive comments as far as I can recall.

From this day forward, I pledge to GIVE BACK to the community. I plan to become more active in the critique club, offer comments and constructive help whenever and wherever possible.

I intend to stray away from the negativity that has been associated with me and that I seem to attract like a magnet.

Please, if you have a question that you are afraid to ask for whatever reason, send me a PM...I will not think your question is stupid or judge you. If I do not know the answer, I will do my best to try and find the answer.

Through these methods, I intend to not only better the community, but to further my knowledge in photography as well.

Wow, that Zoloft really does amazing things. Personally, I will miss the sharp wit

Can we just let this thread die for God's sake, can a site council remove it, it obviously serves no good.

Oh yes, it does. It is fascinating reading material, and serves as a reminder for all sorts of things.

A reminder of what? If you want me to say that I'm not going to change, then that's true, I'm not...no matter what my intentions, I just get fed up with watching people be fake all the time.

Here, here's a picture of my kid I took it with my new camera, do you think it's good? -- meanwhile, it's blown out, horribly composed, the focus is off, and the kid's not doing anything even remotely interesting -- oh yes, it is such a beautiful picture, you are the greatest photographer in the world. :::HUGS::: :-D :-p :-) :D ;)

goodness, just be real.

--

To be honest, I don't care how I am perceived as a person from about 98% of the people here on DPC. Those who I like know I like them, and they know the real me. There is a reason I do not like the people that I do not like.

Personally, and I'm not going to name names, but there are a few people here with whom I've argued openly against, and we have a good relationship through PM's and so on. I will argue against you until I prove that you are wrong, or until I prove my point to my satisfaction. Just like if I think that you are right, and five hundred people are against you, I will stand right there with you and argue your point.

In real life, I am a man who calls only a few friends, but those who I do call friends, I would take a knife in the back for if I thought it would help, and they would do the same for me.

--

The things that matter to me on dpc:
A) getting a helpful comment in an anonymous challenge, where no one knows the photo is mine.
B) giving a helpful comment to someone who actually reads and appreciates it
C) sharring my opinion whenever I feel like, and maybe having that opinion change the opinion of even ONE other person on the matter.
D) finishing in the top 3
maybe there are a few others, I can't remember ;-)

--

If you don't like me, if you want to see me fail, if you want to see me make an idiot of myself, if you want to mock me or make fun of the things that I've said that I haven't held true on, then get in the back of the line...this world is filled with people waiting to see me fail.

With that being said, the only time I've ever lied to anyone anywhere on this entire site was the day I created this thread...because I wasn't being true to myself or anyone who read it...the truth is, I am me, and that is all that I will ever be.

I may not always agree with deapee...but I have to agree with him this time. This site is getting so annoying anymore. It's full of ass kissers.

I am also sick of the "gods" of site council deciding what I can and cannot read on here.

This place was pretty cool about a year ago. You would get some real help with things. Not anymore!

It's a waste of time...people need to start thinking on their own. If I see another attempt of a "grunge" effect...I may puke!

Someone said this last year too.

And the year before.

And...

So basically, DPC was great the first week. After that, it should have been abandoned as a shitty idea.

there is nothing new under the sun.

D, I agree that too many people tend to give fluff comments, but sometime people go to the other end and are too harsh with undue amounts of venom in their tone. That kind of commenting helps no one.

I tend to get either or, I'd rather get one really great comment than 20 fluffy and trollish ones.

barring all that, this thread is stupid and pointless, leave the guy alone, even if you think he is a troll, behaving in this manner lowers yourself to something below what you think yourself to be. I've had my own wods with David, but this seems a little off the edge, and on to a personal attack that serves nothing but your own desire to avenge.

Gee thanks. I was only trying to learn something from the other people on this site. Some of us are not good at photoshop, and we have to start somewhere, and it is comments like this that make me want to give up. Thanks for all your encouragement
