Here is my question, IF you use three images but they are taken on different settings, which one do you put in the boxes on the submission page?

HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?

LOL! I had this same question but luckily for me they were all pretty close as I took them within minutes of each other.

I know that not everyone has the same regard for anonymity that I do but I think some posters to this thread ought to be a little more careful about how they describe their shots.

Must be Brads way of telling us he has something that he thinks is going to do very well. Goodluck.

I think it has something to do with past performance.

I'm not much for one photo with a frame that makes it seem like three. Just my opinion, but I would rather see something a bit more creative. I am also not into three different shots that are similar, but don't really corrulate as a threesome - like the typical b/w of a child or babe in arms in three different poses for example. Not unless photos were taken in succession and you can see an arm raising or a foot raising from photo one to photo three. But three separate poses of the same babe in arms is really not my feel.

This, of course, is far from what I myself am entering though, and I only used that example because it is seen SO often on so many sites, so if you entered one like that, I am sorry. Just my take.

What I do like about the "Day Break" photo above is that the back mountain set lines up perfectly, but it is obvious it is three different shots. Now unless that was photoshopped that way, in which case I wouldn't like it as much, then that is a great example of a triptych. However, mine won't be that good I'm afraid...LOL. I don't have the ability or knowledge yet for such shots, but I think mine will be well received not just for the subject matter, but for a few other reasons that are appealing. It might not be technically perfect, but it will be appealing.

Personally, I think it's the final product that counts...not the method used to get it there. I don't really care if it was 3 shots lined up or a single shot (or panoramic/mosaic) and the borders 'shopped in. IMO, It's a beautiful shot, plain and simple. :-)

I believe that was one shot, not three.

I really wanted to create a story I feel these types of triptych give the viewer more interest. Loved entering this one and predict I'll get about a 5.2 but hoping to break a 6.
Good luck everyone, seems we all enjoyed doing this challenge.

Well call me stupid!! I thought it had to be 640 x 160 and wrestled with it for nights .. finally got it there but what a pita!!!! I am happy with it though .. for my second try doing the triptych. Don't think I'll make top 50 but I'm hoping for a high 4 :)

Well, if it is, I like the photo itself, but not as a triptych then.

It is WAY too easy to take any great landscape shot and give it three lines going through it. I personally will be voting on the story the three photos tell, and not how mathematically precise the three lines were given to one photo. To me that is nothing more than voting on a frame and free study then it is a triptych. I like to see an emotion come to life, or an action come to life, etc along those lines, and that is what I will be watching for.

Anyway.....I am hoping for a nice 6.0 on my own entry. I will be satisfied if with the number of entries I can hold a 5.0, but a 6 or above is obviously my goal along with several others I would imagine.

I'm READY for the (ROAR!!!!) "Roll Over And Reveal"!

What a great acronym!! We should use that from now on.

I just moved to a new place so haven't been able to think about triptychs (wow, six consonants in a row) or doing any more voting. We don't have the internet connection on yet, either.
