I have read both of these books
understanding exposure and understanding digital photography are two great books that have taught me lots and i wanted to pass this on to the dpc community.

I really cannot stress enough how good these books are, He talks about everything from metering to everything they both are soo good, you need to look at them atleast.

And, if you're interested, Bryan teaches the "Understanding Exposure" class (based on his book) at Betterphoto (www.betterphoto.com).
He also teaches a couple other classes there.

I have Understanding Exposure. I cannot recommend it highly enough for the beginning photographers.
(Hmm..."cannot recommend it highly enough" might read oddly for some of our non-native English speaking friends.)
I really, really recommend the book Understanding Exposure for beginning photographers.

I bought Understanding Exposure just a couple of weeks ago, and also can't say enough great things about it. It has really given me a much better understanding of the relationship between iso, aperture, and shutter speed - and some great ideas about getting proper exposure in difficult lighting situations.
