Photoshop Actions, a mavrik collection

I've put a small PS actions file up at

//www.pictureinfinity.com/PIActions.atn

Download the file, put it in c:\program files\adobe\Photoshop\Presets\Photoshop Actions

Re open PS and click Actions on the pallette. Click the little tiny right arrow and "Load Actions" Navigate to PIActions and open that.

**PIProofs is a little proofing script I use that improves almost every image - I think it uses Neat Image so if you don't have NI, you may want to delete that step.

**PISepia is a conconction I made using the Ink Nik Filter - if you don't have that filter, you can delete this action.

**PIbw is a VERY cool little filter. If you change the hue/lightness on the first step, you can make sure skin colors are where you want them to be, then continue the action and it makes it a b/w using that skin tone.

**saveweb is just a save for web action for showing simple things online - it's not optimized except that I don't care if I show things over 70 quality on the web, so it's saved at that level.

**HP2 Sharpen is the action detailed in the sharpening post.

**High Pass sharpen is a traditional high pass sharpen as detailed on the Luminous Landscape, but with slightly different settings I believe. It's also a very nice sharpen action.

**brighten is a curves bump. It brightens the image slightly and the effect can be reduced with an edit/fade.

These are just a couple of the actions I use everyday. If anyone wants more, I'm sure I could oblige. :)

If they are, I like them a lot :) I can't believed I lived without Actions for so long lol No wonder it took me forever to edit photos. lol

Well then I will download them after work and tell ya how I go (Woo hoo is friday lol).

I cleaned up my HD the other day and deleted alot of trash photos but kept the folders that I still wanted to edit. Therefore I have a busy weekend ahead to edit those photos, or toss them. I will try some of these actions then and see how they look.

I need to get my stock majorly up :) I need an IS zoom lol

Can you run actions in Elements? There's nothing too special besides the two I pointed out, so they should run fine. :)

Crap, um...I have to do that each time I start in a new folder. Basically you open a photo, run that part of the action on it and save it in the new folder, then continue the action normally. I bet I can figure out a way to make that work for everyone too.

used mavrik HP2 Sharpen on above landscape.... (used as a final sharpen)

Colour & tone work in each is a bit different and attributed to a curves step rather than the sharpen - However each of these pictures are based on the same raw file and identical except for the afore mentioned curves step. For both I converted in RawShooter to tiff (colour space was a version of RGB - Ekta Space PS 5,J.Holmes.icm) with the same cc profile in Photoshop CS. Steps in CS - psd/neatimage/TLR Capture Sharpening (script)/resize with Miranda SI Pro 2(Low Sharpening, image size 1200x)/resize to 640x.
The final sharpen step for the framed version is Miranda Intellisharpen set to Sharpen fine detail level to default - 50 at 0% halo.

Hi Matt, I finally got a chance to try out a few of your actions. I like the brighten alot. A question about the sharpening though, when do you use this step in your process, before or after resizing? Just curious, I usually save my sharpening until after resizing. I haven't really gotten a chance to use the b&w action yet and the sepia doesn't work for me, don't have the ink option. Overall, I'm happy with what I've used so far. Thanks for posting these. :-)
