		| | I know this happens with colour printers when trying to print a Black and White image from your computer, it gives the image a green/blue hue and it is not what i want. I tried setting the cartridge to print Black Only but it doesnt allow the high quality that i desire. My printer is HP Photosmart 1000.
So i was wondering what little tips and techniques do you use to get a result that you are proud of from the coloured printer or can a true black and white image just not be done?

		| | On my printer (Epson 2200) there is a color enhance > advanced setting where I can set it to monochrome. It works like a charm! Just peek into the properties, then advanced.

This is what we talked about. Think positive. It goes a long way.

This used to happen when I was using my Epson 2000P. Don't print in monochrome. Print in RGB and ajust the color balance a little toward the red scale to help offset the inks inability to print pure black.

		| | Try the Permajet Monochrome Pro inks - google them - which I'm finding pretty pleasnt at the moment. Epson, in my experience, are useless at black and white. The Permajet inks are OK - perhaps a touch warm-toned for me, and certainly too matt, but you may like them, and they're no more expensive than Epson's proprietary inks. |

You were using the wrong Epson inks.

		| | I've has great B/W output using the Canon i9900 on Ilford Gallerie Smooth Pearl paper (with ICC profiles from Ilford). In fact, I've had better results with that than Canon paper.
