boy that was a mouthful!! Well since no one wanted to help me with my other thread thought you might be able to help me with this particular problem.
my camera club which I have only just joined is having a competion where you submit a portfolio of 6 photos which have a common theme. I first thought of doing my girls AGAIN!!! But have decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something different. So help me choose what will be my theme it can be a subject, an effect ie B & W or a colour or something!!

You might try browsing the galleries here at DPC for theme ideas; ie. seascape, landscape, wedding, candid, portrait, etc.

Mildly desaturated bricks.

It'll give you a large volume of subject matter, you can choose lighting to demonstrate different textures and the degree to which you desat the images gives you another level of interpretation. I think it'd be a tighter shot which lends itself to abstract work, too.

It might be beneficial to check out the mentorship thread Bear ran on natural lighting to bring out different textures.

Just an off-the-wall idea, if you'll pardon the pun.
