3x2=6, 6x4=24, 24/4=6

Yah,,But...the crop mode for the D2x (and I guess for the D200 is already 1.5) at normal shoot. So kosmikkreeper is actually right about the "just crop it from the norm" response.

I only go to crop mode when I need the extra speed and that is like..never :-) 5 frames a sec at 12 megapixels is plenty fast..an extra 3 frames a second and give up to half my resolution is not for me.

Gotcha... the crop mode goes from a 1.5 to a 2.0, a relatively small change.

yeah, it's sorta weird. If Nikon had given me an 8 megapixel photo choice at 8 frames a second, NOW we would be cooking with gas!

Thanks all. I get the crop thing now. Sometimes I'm just so lame.

Now lets see:

2 good d70 bodies + good glass = 2 happy photographers

1 great d200 body + great glass = 1 happy celibate photographer

I hate higher math.

Ok spyder, why did you have to post that. I've got drool dripping on my keyboard. If I have one more glass of wine I might just pre order one myself. Of course I'll be homeless because my wife will kick me out of the house.

LOL - I'm still trying to figure out how to justify another body after gettng the D-70 this time last year! But I do need to carry two as I swithc lenes often when out shooting nature and landscapes. Oh and there is that little thing I also need / want, the Nikon 200-400 VR F4 or maybe the Nikon 600 ........

I have been AWOL for awhile but I am back and ready to play again.

I have been debating for weeks between the d200 and the D2X. I think after reading this and all the great reviews I will be buying the D200 and with the rest of the money I will buy some nice glass.

In this house we will have 2 d70s + 1 d200 = a happy photog wife and husband who has moved onto another hobby.
