Took some pictures of my youngest son Nathan and myself. A few were very blown out, did the best I could with them. Or any worthy of a portfolio?

Very nice for someone wanting a mentor. Personally, I like the B&W one the most. Probably because I love B&W portraits |

These two look the most natural to me. The hug looks a bit 'awkward'.
I especially like the b&w close crop. Nice idea. |

Thanks! I think I am going to go back and add more contrast to the black and white close up. |

I really like these shots, 3&5 look less processed to me. In fact the only thing I can criticise is that there maybe a tad too much processing involved.
Anyone wishing for portraits would be so pleased with any of these.
Great work

I agree that some are over processed. It was the best I could do with my camera outside today. You should see the before pictures....this may look over processed but it is an improvement. The sun was so bright and I had very little shade so the pictures came out over exposed. I had to take them before Nathans nap. Better time of day would have been better to shoot I guess. Maybe I could drag him out again when he wakes up! |

Thanks for the reply :) Yes, drag him out again!!
Promise you will leave 3 & 5 as they are, or at least keep copies as they are, cos they are super.

If you're putting a portfolio together, are you also including some of your challenge shots? - like;
For example. I think these shots would impress anyone looking through your portfolio. |

Thanks for the compliment....but people where I live would not like those photos. They would think they were weird. (the Miss You for sure) I live in the boonies of Tennessee. They are going to want to see normal boring portraits I am sure. I can be a little creative but not too creative or I won't get any work. I showed a friend of mine this picture and she thought I was depressed and wondered if I needed to be on meds (she was serious)

I know what you mean! Where I live there is a VERY small town mentality. Anything out of the norm is not acceptable. They would have me put away in a nut house for some of my photos (image grain entry) |

Dang Mandy!!! You are so freaking talented it gives me the willies.
I think I can score some prozac if you want, you can give it to your friend and see if it helps her.
Talented. Talent. ed. Very.
Now tell me about your mother ...
I'm serious about the talent thing. |
