just got this black bear on my way off the hill to get my dinner. this is without ANY zoom at all. we were close enough to actually pet it! I just had to share it with all of ya. It looks so funny with the "ribbons"(tags) in his ears. this bear is prolly just two years old cause its still quite small but wasnt scared of us a bit. it even tried to stick its nose in our window! thank god for power windows!

even tho there is a slight blur to this i think its a pretty good photo and one of the few that i have taken that has been salvageable. i got it as sharp as i could and did a gothic glow to it.

Wait, I'm confused, what are they really in his ears?

Cute as it may be, it's lack of fear of humans will probably doom it eventually. It will either be hit by a car, or become a nuisance bear that has to be put down.

You would be doing it a favor by scaring it.

Don't tell anyone he's around. That bear will be zapped as a "bad" bear. He's been marked and your game & fish folks will get rid of him if he gets into trouble again. At least thats what they do here.

they are tags. it has been tagged and has a tracking collar. when we rolled the window up he took off like a shot! poor thing is just hungry and getting ready for the winter. the local cops make rounds up here every hour and if they see a bear they shoot off a flare gun that usually does the trick. they also have a shot gun that has some kinda special pellets in it that stink and the bears run from the smell. the bears are very active right here where i live and is an everyday occurrance. We have become quite used to seeing them early morning and late afternoon thru the night. we have been seeing them a bit earlier during the day than usual but i think that has to do with winter comming.

How embarrassing for the bear, LOL. I'll bet all his buddies make fun of him. :-)
