I need your help, could someone please help me on restoring this image.

I would like to extend the edges to make it bigger for the frame and make it look better. is anyone up to the challenge.
the photo is the only size i have of it so you should be able to copy and past, if you need me to email it to you i will,
Thanks DPC'ers are the best at photoshop

WOW, that is amazing, i wish i could do that, my school doesnt offer a photoshop class i wish they did though

Thanks :) It's a little bit messy in places, thou! Maybe some others can polish him up a bit more from my edit!
I never took any photoshop classes, I've just been messing around with pics for years! :D (It was done with Corel Photo Paint, BTW)

Not entirely happy with the vignette shape...but it's a try.
(No Photoshop classes here, either. Just books, DPC, and trial and error.) |

Here's my take, thanks for the practice!
Microsoft Digital Image 10 - Restore Old Photo Repair
Clone Background, Blend
Apply Poster Effect filter to darken the edges
Noise reduction, 100% Luminance and 100% Chrominance
Sharpen at 85%, Edge 1 pixel, Threshold 50%
Misc. Spot Removals caused by sharpening
Covert to B&W
Edited to add processing step

Maybe use the vignette to your advantage and mat it with an old-style pattern/material? |

OK, I had a play with this but please keep in mine it is a friday night here and I have had a big week so maybe this is not how it should be.
