Or this region? I'm looking for someone to get together with and learn from haha. I want to set something up for when the leaves have really changed colors and head to the battle fields and maybe Williamsburg.
Anyone out there interested in doing something like this? |

I'll be down there this weekend on the other side - Surry. I plan on spending a few hours on Williamsburg side on Saturday and Sunday. Don't know if you can learn from me though... :)

I disagree. Hoping not to sound *too* obsequiously sycophantic but I think you have an excellent eye, many people could learn from watching (and asking) you.
Unless you meant that you like to throw sticks and rocks at people as they try to learn from what you do.
I'm such a suck-up. |

I'm really not that far away between Roanoke & Lexington, VA (3-4 hours drive or so), and certainly would be willing to travel for a GTG in VA (provided I don't have conflicting obligations). :-)
And I think I can learn from anyone and everyone I meet - I don't know about you... I've met dahkota and she sells herself VERY short - she's VERY talented!
Lemme know if y'all are planning to gtg and I might drive down for the day or something. :-) I'm usually up for a roadtrip!
You can e-mail me at crcservices@msn.com or admin@sjcarterphotography.com
EDIT: I know skiprow is in Richmond I think too... :-)

Well I'm VERY new to the photography thing lol. All I have is my lil p&s and am SOOOOOOOOOOO antsy to get something better- has been arranged and will hopefully have a D70 by Christmas.
I'm finding there are numerous oppurtunities around here for taking pictures - especially this time of year.
I stay home with my daughter so I can work around whoever would be wanting to set something up. I really want to get some tips on using a dSLR since that's what I'll be getting. I'm just looking for anyone who's been doing this for a while lol. My husband takes amazing pictures, but he uses a regular camera. He's been giving me a few pointers, but from the looks of the voting going on in the "Delicate"challenge his eye is not so good lol.
So that's basically what I'm wanting to do. Get some pointers and learn. As long as I know at least 2 weeks in advance I may be able to have hubby take a day of leave so he can watch our daughter. Then again, she can be quite photogenic and may look good hanging from a civil war flagpole. hehe jk. |

Alfresco, thanks for sucking up!
Jimmy, I'm willing to travel 2 hours in any direction as long as there's something interesting...
I've also been thinking of going to Richmond as so far I have only driven past it on the way to somewhere else.
Haven't gotten out to Yorktown yet either so...

okay I just received and email from someone else interested in gtg. Me having a mommy moment did not right screename down lol.
I'd be really interested in planning something though. My schedule is pretty open since I stay home. ONly plans we have are to go to NC next month for a few days. THe inlaws are having a pig picking- great chance for lots of pictures there! lol
So what dates are good for everyone else? Leaves are changing color now so I'm thinking 2 weeks they should be perfect. ALso, if anyone needs a place to crash at our door is open. SO long as you don't mind 3 dogs lol. Hubby loves to bbq and would more then willing to cook dinner I'm sure.
Let me know! |
