I had the opportunity to take photos at my daughter's high school play dress rehearsal tonight. All shots were taken with the 70-200 VR on the D2X using a combination of high speed crop mode, and not. The camera was set to incandescent light at 1/80 of a second, manual mode @ f/2.8 and iso 400 (oh, and handheld without monopod or tripod). I think this is the first set of pics I've taken with the D2X that I am very happy with as far as sharpness and white balance.
You can find the few that I resized and autoflowed for the web at:
The Real Inspector Hound
Comments and critiques welcome.
Thanks,
-danny

Awesome shots... great clarity and color!
Not too bad for a FOAP with a Nikon, I reckon. ;)

Great pictures. Very sharp
edited to ask: Is the VR the 'IS' equivalent in Nikon ?

Yes VR = IS in the Canon world. Without it there would have been no way to handhold 1/80 a second @ 200mm :-)

Yes, that's why I asked, I just got the 70-200 F2.8L IS only to be able to shoot under such light conditions. |
