Reading through a Photoshop Elements book I got from the library. I've been spending evenings at the computer going through one or two chapters at a time with Elements open. I pull up one of my shots and play around with anything new I learn. I have already picked up several new things and some short cuts.

One of the most fun things I've come across is the "Liquify" menu. You can enlarge things (eyes, lips etc.) with the "bloat" tool and you can also choose the "pucker" tool (how funny a name that is!) to shrink things down a bit. I decided to try on my newest Realtor shot. Worked on my nose to shrink it down a bit and even out the eyes a bit too (one has a tendency to have a droopier eyelid.)

Anyway...I thought it was fun and would be interested to see if you think the results look natural. I'm not going to use the edited shot, though. I am who I am and not really worried about being "picture perfect." - but it was fun!

The edited version looks very natural. If you hadn't told me, I never would have known.

Pinochio - in reverse. :) Done well. Took me a couple times flipping back and forth to figure out what you had done.

That's good. It's so easy to overdo a new-found toy :)

I've never been happy with my own results using Liquify, but I think you've done an *excellent* job here. If I had seen only the edited version, I would never have been able to tell you had edited it.

I noticed that too, but I think it's a trick of the eye (no pun intended ;) - if you look closely at the original it's the same color. Excellent job I think- I wish I could permanently PS my real nose smaller! :)

On a related topic, I've seen photographers who specialize in making not so skinny people skinnier- I specifically remember seeing a photo of a ballerina somewhere on the internet, where the photog posted the before and after of his original photo, and he'd made her lithe and slender. Now I can find no traces of such work anywhere on the web. Does anyone happen to have any links to tutorials, or anything really, on the techniques used to do this? I'd think it'd be a great skill to have!!
