Don't know why I even bothered entering "Wide angle" with my point and shoot. I want a dSLR! And one of those lenses of course!

I was at the camera shop yesterday trying out the Tokina 12-24mm. Drool. It was pretty good considering it was at the same price (almost) as the Sigma 12-20mm. The Canon is too expensive at almost $800. I have to say, I have the eye envy. Drool. One day I'll get one :D |

That's neat! I went to the dollar stor looking for a "fisheye paperweight" this weekend, but they didn't have any.

Very impressive photos guys.
Is it a full frame lens? Do you get a full circle in the image? I'm also looking for a wide angle, probably a fisheye... But I don't want a full circle image, because I'll have to crop it in order to don't get black corners in the prints. That's why I'm rulling out the sigma 8mm. I'm looking for the 10-20mm or the 15mm Fisheye. The 10-20mm won't be so cool althogh I've readed that at 10mm it will distorth the straight lines a bit. Is it a big difference between a 10mm and a 15mm in actual use?

yes the 10.5mm full frame on D' cameras
taken a few pics with a F80 with the it and it is severly vignetted withthe scalloped lens hood but that can be croped out during printing or matting ... |

The crop-factor still counts though, so it's like a 15mm lens in 35mm equivelancy.

I really hope the Wide Angle challenge doesn't turn into a "Who's got the widest lens" contest. I'm afraid people are going to vote for how wide the shots look instead of image quality. The challenge details clearly invite P&S entries. Wouldn't be cool to encourage them and then vote them down simply because they are not as wide as some speciality lenses.

No crop factor. Pure Fish. Think, Red Snapper...or Dover Sole... |

The results from the 10.5 on the D70 look very much like the results from the Canon 15mm fish on the 5D... in other words, marvelously fishy! Congrats on the new glass.
