There's no live model involved, but the car is identifiable by the license plate. What's your opinion?
edit:
To provide a little more info, the shot was taken at a free public exhibition. Nobody pays to show their cars (as far as I know), and nobody pays to walk around & look at them.

change the license into 49 BUCH (a little photoshopping ;))
Personally I wouldn't like it when my license plate would be on a picture (but I don't have a fancy car like this one!) |

Clone out/alter the license plate into something more generic? |

I would blank out the registration. IANOL, but you could be sued for invasion of privacy? |

I wouldn't edit the license plate. That is part of what makes this an interesting photo. I would discuss it with the car owner and then sell it... maybe give the owner a print. |

I agree with this. The plate is descriptive of the car, so IMHO, it can't be changed. As far as talking to the owner, that's pretty much what I had already planned to do. I'm just looking for a legal opinion, I guess, as to whether or not I have a right to sell it. |

If you were standing on public property when you took the photo, and did not use "extraordinary means" (like a periscope) to obtain it, then you should be able to sell prints.
If you were on private property (the car owner's) when you took it, you should get a written property release first. |

@ biteme: I believe it refers to the wide, squat, "chubby" look of the car.
@ GeneralE: Thanks for the input. Shot taken on the street. |

Allright, then don't edit the pic, I'd go for the same advice like jmsetzler |

There would be no legal considerations if the owner gives you approval. There may be none anyway, but it's always best to get that approval when you can. |

My feelings, too. I've just PM'd BradP. He may know the owner. |

That looks like a '49 Mercury... like the one Stallone drove in the movie "Cobra". Gorgeous cars... |
