Ive been seeing alot of pics on this site that look really cool, and just grab my attention. I would like to do the same kind of thing to my pics, but i am not sure how to do it.
what i want to know how to do is have a B&W image and have one objects color show up. here is an example
  
I believe this is a photoshop thing, but correct me if i am wrong

It's called selective desaturation. Try it with a hard line first like this:
Everything above the water is BW. it's easy to do because of the marked lines.

Couple other ways of doing it, but not within the basic rules is:
To take a snapshot of a layer after adjusting the object.
Turn the image into a black and white.
Use the history brush to paint the subject back in.
or
Change the paintbrush tool from normal to color.
Paint over everything you want to turn into black and white, leaving all subjects you want in color untouched. |
