Today was our school's Fair Day so I took the kiddos to the fair. We wandered about the midway for about three hours, taking pictures as we walked, ate, and spent money...jeez that place is expensive these days! I thought I saw a sign about special finance rates on the coupon booth window. ;) Anyway, here is one shot I liked a lot, and there are more here if you are so inclined to visit. The highlight (literally) of the day was the ride on the Texas Star...and after overcoming my panic attack on the first trip up and around, I got some shots of downtown Dallas as we came around the next few times. It was really neat! I wish it hadn't been so hazy but I'm happy anyway. As always, comments and suggestions are appreciated! :)

Hmmmm...maybe I should change the title of the thread to Totally Nude State Fair of Texas Pictures. ;)

Here's one I took. I have many many more but Laurie has done a great job at showing us what was to be seen. Great work!

By the way the carnival barker with no body was great, he had everyone in stiches. I kept coming back and taking photos and he remembered me every time.

I really enjoyed looking through your photos Laurie. Great colors to them. My favorite was the one with the little pink pig and the ones of the big ferris wheel. Looks like a great time and fun way to spend a day.

Thanks Jen and Don! I want to go back to the fair one more time this year, preferably at night so I can try my hand at some of those longer exposures like the shot you posted, Don. I also want to see the skyline at night from the top of the Texas Star... wonder if they'd let me bring a tripod on board? LOL ;)

Thanks Laurie for my State Fair Fix for this year. We go every year but doesn't look like we will this year. Last year I went by myself so I could shoot as much as I wanted without other hurrying me. It's such a fun place to take pictures and people watch. :)
You got some really nice shots and your boys are sooooo handsome. |
