As many of you know, I have been very active for the past 3 years in helping to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. This year, on October 7-9, I will be walking 50 miles (80 km) in the MS Challenge Walk to help raise funds to find a cure.
There are several ways you can help.
First of all, please consider making a direct donation. Your donation will not only help fund research to find a cure, but will provide much-needed services to those living with MS right now. While donations of any amount are welcome and GREATLY appreciated, I will also give FREE PRINTS to anyone who donates at least $50 (see this thread) for details.
I will also be donating the proceeds on all print sales I make between now and the date of the walk. If you see a print you like, buy it now and help a great cause!
Thank you in advance for your generous support!
-Terry

Steve,
Thanks for the good wishes!
One of my best friends, BAMartin here on DPC, is the reason I walk. She has MS, and right now she is participating in a clinical trial which is funded by the National MS Society.

So far, $925 in paid-up pledges. I have another $200 pledged but not yet received, and $22 in print sale proceeds to donate, for a total of $1147. I'm committed to raise at least $1,500 so I still need support.
As a reminder, anyone who donates at least $50 ($1/mile) gets a free print!

Edited to update totals - Thanks Clara!

Dear members,
You most probably enjoy the benefit of good health. That is something not everyone can say so please show your appreciation by donating something for this very worthy cause. Together we can help Terry achieve the $1500 he set out to donate.
Please, however small the amount I think we all know it adds up.. pretty please..

Peter,
Thank you so much for your kind words and your very generous support! You are absolutely correct that it's easy for most of us to take our health for granted. Living with MS, though, means not knowing what the next day will bring. Symptoms such as dizziness, numbness, loss of balance, and even blindness or paralysis can come and go at any time and without warning.
Thanks for bringing us one step closer to a cure.

I wish I had extra money to donate this year to the walk, I have done so in the past, as you know..
With that said, please keep up the good work, my Dad Lives w/the disease and its sad to see such a vibrant person be taken by MS.. |

Tim,
I'll keep your father in my thoughts and prayers as I'm walking next weekend.
Thanks for your words of support,

This is Steve Cady (My Dad), when it hits, taken during my vacation in Florida, last nite I was there..
I asked if I could take the picture, cuz he's a proud man, and he said yes..
He was fine all week, then all a sudden he could do nothing, but get comforted by my stepmom, Anny..
Thats MS, and it sucks.. |

To me, that's the most frightening thing about MS -- how it comes and goes with no warning. Your father is fortunate to have family to support him when he needs it. Hopefully this walk helps him in some way.

Hey guys...
If you're waiting for the last minute, we're almost there! Please do consider donating... as you can see, even a small donation helps out a lot of people, including quite a few right here on DPChallenge.
Please also check out John Setzler's print auction as well. Please consider bidding on this... it is a high quality, professionally framed print that is definitely worth owning.
Thank you so much for you support!

Okay, Terry, made my donation, not much, don't have much and you can't take my time, LOL so Good Luck and think of my Aunt Ester at least once during your walk, kay? She may be a crabby old biddy sometimes but she's one tough crabby old biddy who's still fighting MS and has been for as long as I can remember and I'm 43!
