Hi everyone,
Would you mind letting me know what you think about this business card? Just to let you know, the URL on the card currently links to the Smugmug gallery that I just created, so it's not entirely functional yet. Any comments on the look and content? Thanks!

I like the way it looks so crisp and clear, but I wonder how it will print out small card size. I would like to see different text as well. You might also want to add your email address for more contact, unless you don't want it shown for some reason |

Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions.
In response to Lynne's comment below, I have posted the blank picture here in case anyone wants to suggest a better way to do the text. That is not my forte at all. :-)
And To Lynne's second point, I wanted to make the card as simple as possible, to the point of including only a URL and not an e-mail address. Is that too sparse? Thanks!
Nice cityscape, but don't like the text's appearance. Wanna make it a project, post the plain pic and we'll lay in some whose color, tracking and typeface "works"? :)
What sort of work are you trying to get? Landscape is what I would conclude from the paucity of info on the card--clean is nice, but you might want to add an e-mail at least.

hey phil,
thought I'd return the favor you were so helpful when I first joined I put together fast and dirty layout for you - I did not use the cityscape image because if you go with the standard size card of 2x3.5 that image could get really difficult to discern any detail. (I pulled some of my fav images from your portfolio).

feel free to hate it - i usually don't get a design right til the 5th or 6th conceptual. good luck with this - michele

tweaked that layout a bit:

Geez, Michele - thanks for the business card! That's a much better general purpose layout that answers the critique of limiting myself by only showing a cityscape image. Glad I was nice to you when you joined. ;-)
For those who were concerned about image quality on 2x3.5" paper, I'm printing these cards myself on glossy clean edge business card stock (Avery 8879), so the image quality turns out great at 300 DPI.
Thanks to everyone else for their comments and feedback as well. I appreciate all of you taking the time to give your suggestions.

since your printing them on glossy stock here's one more with your cityscape after I started playing with it I kinda liked this one - you can use whatever background color you like including your sky I just used black for fast editing & looks nice with the gold buildings too.

I did a text version where the outside was stroked and the inside filled with your water (semi opaque) but didn't save it. Michele, nice work!

I like this font which is popular in my neck of the woods but some DPCers might disagree. It's all over SOHO for example, on storefronts, biz cards, menus, point-of-sales flyers etc.
I thought your text layout might have been a bit bland and whether you like my mark up or not you still may want to think about the dynamics of what you have. Try moving things around and use different type sizes you could hit on something that's really neat and different.
Keep it very simple but stand out.

Thanks again, everyone! This is seriously the most helpful site on the web. :-)
I like that graverplate font too, Steve, so I'll play around with that one as well. Thank you!

It's Copperplate...
Here's another idea that I toyed with, that has a simple look. Keep in mind they are only ideas that need to be improved on...
