Saw this...plant (or flower?) while walking this past weekend. It's native to the midwest, US - or at least Oklahoma. It was a tree and not a bush. Anyone know what it is? Thanks. :-)

nothing to be embarassed about! :-)
that's a seed pod from a Magnolia gradiflora, sometimes called a Southern Magnolia.

| Looks like one to me. My mother-in-law has one in her front yard but the seed pods are a different color. |

One thing that threw me was it was next to this pine tree and (ok, don't laugh too hard) I thought maybe it was some mutant Oklahoma thing, having moved to this state a year ago. :D
