I love your sunset photo. If the trees had been in focus too, it would have been perfect. Was really good.

Jab - You're in my neck of the woods. I'll be staying put in the Willowbrook area. I am a little concerned about the large trees near my house. I will try to document as much as I can from my house and I'll post photos here when I am able

For you folks staying behind, please check in somehow - even if it's to call another DPCer in a different state and they can post for you.

Edit: Great shots!!

Thanks, Im am all done with everything I need to do, now its just a matter of waiting. The clouds are starting to come in but the temps are much cooler than yesterday. We moved some cars to a nearby parking garage at a hospital to keep them high and dry.

DannyM - Stay safe up there, I have 4 50+ foot tall oak trees in my yard, I more woried about those.

tfaust, I have a "DPC buddy" who has my phone numbers and I have his ( RHoldenSr )

I will keep him posted or I will just post here if I can.

Nice photos :)

Don't you go sticking that camera out the window when the hurricane gets there! :) LOL

Please stay safe, our prayers are with you, your family and everyone else in the area of the hurricane!

I will keep in touch.

We're beginning to get the outer bands of clouds way up here already... I took these while driving home from work, through a filthy windshield of course, but the sky was really changing pretty quickly so I wanted to grab a few snaps. This farm-to-market road heads due north, so you can imagine these clouds rolling in from the NE pretty quickly...these two snaps were taken about 2 miles and 2 minutes apart.

Another bump with additional pics - I added some pics of the sunset. They are the last 6 pics on the page

We are starting to get some wind gust and very little rain, but the wind is blowing it pretty good.

I boarded up the last 2 windows we left open for natural light. no power outages in my area and tings are good for now ( 8:35 PM Central time)

Robin thats a nice shot, I wanted to take some better pics, but we were leaving my sister in-laws house and the wind gust just started and my wife was in a panic. My wifes B-day is tomorrow (the 24th) so we had dinner and a such over there.

Looks like the huricane is back down to a 3 and has moved futher east.

Thomas, those are some good pics

Well that shit didn't work. Good thing it wasn't a fast moving badass coming straight for Houston or you all have had bunch of people trapped on the highway. As I said before, before Katrina and it still stands, unless you live in a trailer, on a flood plane, below sea level, on a barrier island or wthin 10 miles of the coast stay where you are. You are much safer in a solid house then you are stuck in traffic in your car when 125mph winds start chunking large solid objects at you.

Ok its 8:25 am on Saturday and we are still doing good. We still have power and cable services. No flooding, but we do have a lot of little branches scattered all over our yard. No damage to the house at all.

But my sister inlaws house is with out power just 4 miles away, other than no power they are doing good.
