Please forgive me if I have overlooked anything but I just got into photography about 3 months ago and joined this site as a great learning tool. Since I joined I figured the absolute best learning tool would be to compare the winning shot with the original picture of ribbon winners since those photos had been voted the best. I figured that way I could get an idea of good ways to use photoshop (my computer skills are about 2/10). Anyway, I've looked high and low and can't find the originals of the ribbon winners. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great..........my wife will probably get pissed because I'll spend most of my time trying to figure out how to hone my skills. Well, sorry for long message and thanks in advance! |

Here's a good place to start.
Edit: P.S. You can also start a thread asking others to edit one of your images. I've learned a lot this way.

The only time you will see original is if they post them like this
//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=230418
Look in his comments and you will see a link to the original shot:

Thanks Rex! I love looking at the originals, and hadn't realized that sz1 had posted the original. I think it's really generous when the winners do that, as I learn a ton by seeing how they worked it. It was a beautiful original, but a spectacular finish. |

The rules for that one specific challenge was very different.
"Rules: There are NO editing restrictions and NO date restrictions for this challenge. The sections "Post-shot Adjustments" and "Exposure Date" are not will not be considered for disqualification. This is basically no-holds-barred, so make it a good one!"
Was a pretty wild challenge, that's for sure. |

I feel your pain here. I would like to see the originals of all the ribbon winners, but I would LOVE to see the originals of heida and librodo. They are great photographers and master Photoshoppers. I would love to see the processes they go through to get their final results. |

Heida posted her original for the Wooden challengeand all the steps she took in post processing in the post processing mentorship group. It is always interesting to see how someone else processes, let alone someone with such a cool style as Heida.
