Looking through different threads I see people talking about how many shots they took to 'get' a certain photograph. Seeing that most of the posts had much higher number than I was taking I was curious what the average time/shots for everyone is. Here are some numbers to fill in:
Average # Shots per Work Week: Average #Shots per Weekend: Average # Shots per Subject: Avarage # Shots for Challenge: Approximate # for Specific Photograph: |

Generally, I shot about 75 to 150 shots after I know what shot I want to submit. I'll shot between 25 and 50 on ideas I'm not sure I like to see how they look and I seem to average 2 to 3 ideas before I find my shot. But I have gone much quicker. I shot Botanical Garden for City Life in about 15 shots... Of course it shows :) |

I just shot about 20 shots to try out an idea(didn't like it). Usually about 25 shots to try out each idea (usually 3 ideas) and then 25-75 to do the shot. Digital doesn't cost so I figure the more I take the better chance at the perfect shot (I'm anal can you tell).

I for one really liked your botanical garden shot. sjgleah was right when he said it looked like an aerial photo and I could just imagine you taking this shot while loads of people walked past wondering what on earth you were taking a photo of.
