Okay, that confirms it. This photo inspires a love/hate response, which is probably why I have so many comments. I now have 17 comments, 13 of them full positive in the order of really like to love, but I'm still below a 5.

Is it normal to have 50 more views than votes? Are people restraining judgement, or is this just a fluke of the click-through process? (Like someone clicking the back button to change their last vote)

Yep, it's normal. Some people look through all the images before voting. Some go back over them after voting as a review. |

I don't know. If you go back through some of the challenges, there are some people who got 3rd place with a 7.8
Many people have said that there are a lot of great entries this time, so the competition at the top is going to probably be very close. The top 20 may be separated by less than .5 overall. |
By the scores most people have been reporting (high 4's to mid 5's), I think I would have a more positive outlook.
Mine is doing much better since last night. It was sitting at 6.0273 on Thursday. It's now at 6.4348 :D

+40% cant bother to vote ---
ever wonder what the demographis of that secgment of DPC (i'll presume there is a section that refuse to vote on challenges that they enter but i find 40% high ...)

It made a nice leap today, after first going down to 5.74 or so. But I can't see why people like this better than my last few entries. To me it looks just like one of my regular shots. But perhaps with a bit more perspective :-)
