This might be a dumb question but...
If I have a .TIFF file, can I get a slide created from it? Not a slide show on a computer but a transparency to show in a projector. Does anyone know where I could get this done if it is possible?
Second dumb question:
In a slide competition, would this be considered unethical or something like that? I have read the rules and no where does it not allow an image to be converted to a slide. Is it inherently understood that the image was taken using slide transparancy film?
Thoughts, ideas, opinions on all the above more than welcome. :)

Don't know about contest rules allowing it, but you can certainly make slides from digital files -- I did it as far back as about 1993. Look for a professional photo lab in your area ... where I am, I've most recently had it done at Cantoo in Berkeley. |

I have used THIS SERVICE with great success. I have won several camera club slide competitions with digital images converted to slides by these people.

As for your quesiton about 'ethics', you should be completely legal unless the competition states that the image must be shot with a film camera. There are no 'inherently understood' rules in a competition. If something is against the rules, they will be specifically specified.
Now...
Yer gonna piss some people off, but that's ok too. :)

Thanks jm! I guess if I can handle it here, should be no problem, right! ;)
And that link you provided is cheap too.

Dakota, I've been shooting digital for several years now, getting slides made at Slides.com and entering them in Club competition.
Many others in my and other regional Clubs are doing the same thing. It's an accepted part of photographic life these days. Camera clubs are coming into the digital age; some are kicking and screaming, but they are working it through. Evolve or wither away.
