Yes, this has nothing to do with photography.
After reading some of the football threads recently I thought it would be fun to set up a fantasy football league just for DPCers. This is a purely for fun thing and so any experienced fantasy football players may find it less of a challenge.
I signed up the league over at NFL.com and so you would need to become a registered member over there. The membership is free as is playing in the league. Again, this is mostly a goofy for fun thing with playful teasing and boasting and all that stuff.
You dont need to be a football fan to play, but obviously the enjoyment comes from watching the games on the weekends and seeing how your players do, and of course beating another DPC'er's team! You also dont have to be male (obviously!) as a grrlie beating a guy at football is just too sweet of a feeling to miss.
The league is private to ensure only DPC'ers join. To join you'll need to PM me your email address so I can invite you. I'm not gathering email addresses, I wont be adding them to an address book, and the likelihood of me remembering them after today will be quite zero.
We need 12 teams and the draft is tomorrow. It will be based on first come first served until we're full.
Yes I know this has nothing to do with photography but we're also a fun-loving community with other hobbies too!

I gather this is American football not British (soccer) ??

cool...I'm already in one on there....and its a serious league...went thru the 2.5 hour live draft once already...wasn't looking forward to another lol. I'm game.

I can't imagine that fantasy football (soccer) is a hit in Europe the way it is in the states. Fantasy football (american style) is serious business over here. I've played since the heady days before the internet when we did our league by going over the box scores by hand in Monday morning's paper.
I run a league now using the Yahoo host with 9 other friends. It's a great way to enjoy the NFL season.
I joined the DPC league. Watch out for the "mental blocks." LOL |

You need to open your mind some then. Football may not be as totally stats based as your game but we fantasise just as much : )

| Thanks for all the PM's of people interested in joining. We got the twelve needed, although there are still quite a number of people interested that didnt quite make the 12 :( I'm sure there are enough people to create another DPC league if someone else is interested in creating one. |

For those poor souls who have joined and are going to get trounced by my Crabboys, you are more than welcome to come join in some friendly, or not so friendly taunting at Crabby's Chatroom
Week one looks interesting, hope everyone is up to the beat down I'm going to throw on y'all as we meet up throughout the season!

It's big over here - most of the newspapers run a fantasty football compition with prizes of around £100,000. At our work we have about 25 people who joined the Daily Telepgraph Fantasty Football comp. Then we all joined a super league, all of us put in £20 and at the end of the season we pay out for 1st,2nd,3rd places. Off course none of use every come near to wining that £100,000 prize but its great fun.

Wow! Thanks Mike, I had no idea. I thought it was just us yanks that were so crazed that we'd play a "fantasy" version of our favorite sport. Glad you folks across the pond are no saner than us! |
