The NC Mtn. State Fair opened yesterday, and I was pleased with some of the results.
1st place in "BW Human Interest, Human Events, and Holidays"
(it wasn't quite as "green" as this one :) )
1st place in "BW People and Portraits"
2nd place in "Color Abstract, Motion and Special effects"
Judges choice in "Color Abstract, Motion and Special Effects"
2nd place in "Animals -- Wildlife"
3rd place in "Animals -- Wildlife"
2nd place in "Farmlife"
3rd place in "Man-made Phenoneman"

Karmat,
Congratulations on the fine results with your great photographs. The first photograph is wonderful as well as the rest. Where is the NC Mtn. State Fair, Asheville? My wife and I moved to Utah from Banner Elk, but I only know the State fair in Raleigh.

Yes, the mountain state fair is in Asheville, with the state fair being in Raleigh.
about 8 (?) years ago, they decided that Raleigh was simply too far for many of the mountain participants to travel (heck, it's only a 9 or 10 hour drive for some of the western-most residents ;) ), so we got our own.
The first one is probably one of my favorites ever taken.

We moved here 15 years ago, for the skiing, I guess that is why I am not familiar with it. I am sure there were may fine photographs entered, there are a lot of talented people in the Appalachians.
