A neighbor of mine here has a 24-70mm f/2.8L in (he says) truly excellent condition for sale; he's switched to Nikon, I have no idea why. He may have other gear for sale, including possibly a 20D; depends on if his kids want to buy the body and some lenses. He's asking $800.00 for this retail 1150+ lens.

Is anyone seriously interested? I can broker this and check the gear for ya to see if it's good. I've never met the man, but connected to him through a local camera-club listing.

Please let me know if you're seriously interested; this would be cash on the barrelhead, but it seems a very attractive price. I'd do it myself if I could, but I can't. I'm tapped out.

plus you already have that beautiful piece of glass known as your 1022 :)

If you were in Canada I would do it in a second...the taxes applied when crossing the border make it just a "good price" instead of the "really good price" that it would be otherwise.

Somebody should jump on this.

When he sells the 20d, I'd like to see the price. I may jump on that one.

Yeah, but I REALLY wanted the 24-70 instead of the Tamron 28-75; I just couldn't afford nearly triple the price. But the Tammy's sweet, I'm fine with it.

Bear, I'm very interested but I have to get home and talk to the wife. (this could be painful)

This one has to be a family decision since the money is earmarked for something. But I'm not afraid to cut my ears off, look what it did for Van Gogh.

$800 is a great deal for that lens. Mine sold a few weeks ago for $999 on eBay in a matter of hours. Somebody here ought to snap it up.

Do you know what other lenses he may have to sell Robert? I may be looking for a Canon EX flash too.

I'm still waiting to hear from him re: other gear for sale. He's not a very online kind of person, which is why this deal is even possible. I wouldn't expect a flash to be available; he's switched to Nikon, and the flash will work fine on that.

Wow, if it's in good shape, whoever snags that 24-70 is getting a great deal.

yeah I would consider throwing in my 80-200L for a trade... but the switching to nikon thing, and also...i love the lens. Would be nice to have the capital for this. Can't go into debt again quite yet haha!
