Okay, here's my friend's list. All this gear is in new or nearly new condition, and the price is negotiable but he's not going to accept ridiculously low offers. I'm gonna handle the sale for now, and probably the shipping as well.

This is a good opportunity to get some gear at a very fair price; make your (serious only, please) offers.

CAMERA

• CANON Digital Rebel 300D (with or without kit lens)

LENSES

• CANON Kit Lens 18-55mm (unless sold with body)

• CANON 85mm F/1.8

• CANON 24-70mm F/2.8L

• SIGMA APO 70-200 mm F/2.8 Ex

• SIGMA 12-24mm F/4.5-5.6 EX DG Aspherical

• SIGMA APO Tele Converter 2X EX

MISCELLANEOUS

• CANON 550EX Speedlight

• CANON Wireless Speedlight Transmitter ST E2

great list there. So nothing has set prices at all? Looking at that list i'd only be interested in stuff i cannot afford unfortunately... bump for you!

The man's willing to be fair. We already know he's asking $800 for the 24-70 f/2.8, which is a very fair price, easily 150-200 less than e-bay price.

This is an opportunity for DPCers to get some nice gear at a reasonable price BEFORE WE LIST IT ON EBAY, which I will do if it doesn't sell here...

I sent you a pm on the 550ex...so is the 24-70 still available for $800? How is that possible?!?

so how about selling us Icelanders some of that gear ;)

I'd love to have that 24-70 for $800 :) if it is as new, without dust or scratches

People, we're looking for firm offers on this gear. He hasn't given me any set "asking prices" except the 800 on the 24-70mm. Feel free to PM me with your best offers. Make it the price you're willing to pay NOT including shipping. You'll be paying for the shipping, and you'll be choosing the method.

I have NO idea how much it consts to ship to Canada and Iceland, for example.

As far as I know ALL 85mm f/1.8 Canon lenses are USM; I don't think they ever made a non-USM version.

These are the two that most interest me. Problem is with the new Canon 10-24? lens I don't think I could offer a fair price for him for the sigma. Ah well, save my pennies. (and give the thread a bump)

Nope - forgot I have holes in my pockets to keep myself occupied.

Tease!

My friend will mail me his asking prices for this gear shortly. Then we'll have a better idea what will work and what won't. Going by the price he set for the 24-70mm, he is going to be quite reasonable.

The 2x converter is interesting, but not sure what value will be like with shipping costs to UK.

Wait and see what price guide is.

OK people: I have asking prices now. I'm not gonna post them because they are VERY reasonable and I don't want to start a landslide here of people fishing on a wing and a prayer.

Don't be afraid to PM me with your best offer. It might very well take the gear. We'll be selling the 300D with the kit lens included, btw. The asking price is still good even if it were the body alone.

The way it's gonna work, YOU make your offer, bearing in mind that if you get the gear you'll be paying the shipping. If you "win", let me know how you want it shipped and to where, and I'll let you know how much to add for shipping. I won't mark up the shipping. I mayhave to pay for boxes, I'll include that in the shipping price at cost. You'll send a money order in HIS name to me. I'll check the gear, and if it is up to snuff I'll make the exchange and ship.

Obviously this will be a relatively slow process, not gonna happen overnight or anything. It's possible you can pay me with PayPal and I pay him, but PayPal takes a few days to make funds available anyway so....

I'm not making a penny off this myself, I'm setting it up so my fellow DPCers can get a good deal.

I'll leave this open to all til 6PM tomorrow: best offer over asking price by that time gets it. If asking price hasn't been met by that time, then first offer that meets the asking price gets it.

These are some really nice prices IMO; send in your offers, if you're serious :-)

I donno; I've had times when the money was IN my paypal account but I couldn't get it OUT for a few days. I'm not sure why. In any case as soon as I can access it I'll do the transaction.

If you have current credit card info on file with PayPal, it should be instant. If for some reason they need to revert to "e-check", it does take a few days. I got bit by that when my credit card company had their database compromised and had to send me a new card... all of a sudden PayPal was taking 3 days to clear. Duh, I forgot to update my info. with them, LOL.

In any event I'd prefer to do it with Money Orders; I live on a disability pension and don't really want to run this kind of money through my account. It might raise a red flag and send them asking questions.
