Have you started anything at all or you just don't know where to being? Looks like there's some instructions here. I have comcast but I forget my username and password so I can't log in. If I remember it or if you have more specific questions, I can try and help you.

Troy, go to comcast.net. Sign in using your id and then go to account section. They have a link where you need to enable web pages. Once that is done, then you can go to the ftp server, sign in and upload.

Okay, found my username. Basically, you'll just need to upload all the files that you've created with Photoshop. You can do this one of two ways. You go to the website section and click on "advanced tool" and then on "http file uploading" and upload through the website or, if you're familiar with ftp, you can log in with host name: upload.comcast.net username: your username, password: your password and upload your files that way. I'd suggest using an ftp program if you can as they're generally more manageable.

Once you've uploaded your stuff, whatever file is called index.html or index.html will be the front page of your site.

ok so i uploaed the files and i went to managing existing files then there is utiliteis talking about directories and stuff what do i do from there

Directories work pretty much the same way they do on your computer. It's just different folders to file your stuff. In the main folder, there should be the index file. You should also probably be able to see a few folders of stuff that Photoshop created...the thumbnails, the shots, etc. Do you? b

You should be able to see that in the directory view.

On the main comcast.net page, on the left is a choice for Online Storage.

You need to mess around in there. It took me a bit to get mine to work. Also, go back and re-enable web pages. After I did that, I got ftp to work.

There should be some documentation either that came with photoshop or on the web.

I'm guessing you just need to FTP the files (the html file, and any pictures and other graphic files) into your home directory. Keep the tree structure that Photoshop created for you (whether it's flat or whatever) and make sure the file name is index.html or index.htm of the page you want to be your site's home page. Comcast should have the information you need to FTP. You'll need the correct path on the server and your username and password.

Alternately I'd just get professional hosting. It's SUPER cheap these days. I use IXwebhosting, but they're not great. I've heard good things about //www.lunarpages.com/index.php and will probably switch to them eventually. It's wayyyyy less of a headache to use professional hosting than to beat your head against the wall with the free stuff you get from your ISP.

I did this site: //www.fuel411.com (has a photo gallery) in about 3 weeks working on it part time and knowing pretty little about web design/hosting/php when I started. I used one of the templates my hosting company provided. Then I tweaked it a bit. Eventually we'll get Dreamweaver and make a custom site, but I was in a huge hurry.

I like the photo gallery software I found quite a bit too. Not too hard to setup and has some nice features, like a slide show that doesn't refresh your entire browser...even has transitions for those using IE. Also stuff like if you upload your pictures as a zip file it will unpack them all for you. So you can upload one file, walk away and come back and have your gallery put together. Typically trying to install this kind of thing on your free ISP "website" is either impossible or really complicated. But if you pay for dedicated hosting, it's easy. Just follow all the instructions carefully and read the FAQs if you get stuck. Great forum support too. The software I use is Gallery: //gallery.menalto.com/index.php

Also you probably have fairly limited bandwidth on your free space...where as I pay like $6/month for 5 gigs of storage and 300gb of transfer and two dedicated IP addresses. For $20ish a month I can have unlimited storage and more dedicated IP addresses (I think like 8).

Hope this helps!

Troy, try this
//home.comcast.net/~Username/folder name/index.htm

Insert your username and the folder name is whatever folder all your files were created in. Well, that is if you uploaded the whole folder.
