My score rose up to above 5. WOO HOO
I'm still laughing that somebody didn't like my title saying "what does that have to do with branch?" DUH - there's a stinking branch in the photo, you idiot.
Ok, sorry. I needed to vent. Thank god for my High Contrast!! |

Alright guys, I do my fair share of commenting, but I understand what you mean about not getting the comments when they are bad. So here's what Im gonna do, Im gonna go back and try commenting on all the lower scores. I get to caught up on commenting on the brilliant photos, that is a fault of mine that I will have to remember from now on.

Because there are a handful of people on this site that will abuse you for 3 forum pages for offering critiques or "call someone out" for comments explaining why they didnt vote an image high. After a couple of experiences like that, very few folk will keep up commenting with anything other than glowing praise because being personally attacked for offering to help someone learn isnt much fun.
That said, you can PM me after the challenege & i will give you an honest crit if youre still looking for one.

For future reference feel free to blast any of my submissions. If I can learn from criticism (no matter how brutal) great, my next submission will be that much better. If I think that the criticism is unfair or too harsh I'll just ignore it. Having said that, I can live without sarcasm. |

It's funny, my High Contrast started at 4.9 after 15 votes and now has risen to 5.55. The two are nearly the same now after having such contrasting scores to start with. |

Ok breaking annomitity a bit on my second entry here... I am getting comments like.. wheres the branch and I dont get it. the challange states to show a branch, bank branches, metophoric branches, be creative.
By defination a branch is somthing that splits off of a base or is arm like, such as military branch, or one stream splitting off off another, veins that pump blood in an animal or water in a plant, a crack in the cement that splits in 2 directions, a road with a fork, a large wire spliiting into several smaller ones. While there are some beautifully composed images to many of them seemed obvious such as a new branch of the family tree or the militay, or banks or trees...So I went alittle creative and focused on the not so obvoious but the "branch" is there people just need to look. I dont mind the bad score if I thought it was because it was a bad photo, but when care is made to focus on a unique detail and peoples comments are oblivious to it... well it is frustrating to say the least, and all the comments are bagheads so I cand explain the branch to them.../sigh will keep trying.

| My time capsule entry and shoes were the same way, but I have to say when I vented my frustration to a friend of mine she said that she thought it was better to be clever than to play to the lowest common denometer. I will say, that my entry was not a great shot, but I do take some credit for at least understanding the image. |

I have finally finished voting on all of the images in this challenge. In a way I wasn't looking forward to it after reading other voters comments on the overall appearance of the images.
But I was really suprised to find some incredibly creative photos amongst them...some of them blew me away. Give yourselves a pat on the back. I even ended up with 2 new favourites from them...and that is rare for me. Fantastic!!

I have finished judging and am at 18% comments,but (like shoes) feel like my fingers are made of rubber. I too thought there were some amazing shots...I loved the creativity and thought should by so many of the submissions. |

Well my picture is definitely not creative or imaginative at all. I am pretty amazed that my vote is going UP! up to near 4.3! I'm laughing all the way though. Lots of fun for the first submission. I just wish I had submitted something good on my first attempt.
Only one snag. 0 comments. I seem to be cursed with an anti-comment field. I have submitted other photos to threads and have invited various ones to view and comment on my pictures, but I have never received comments online. The best I have so far is that my mother said oh, that's interesting. :) Some of them aren't TERRIBLE :).
Maybe one day when this site unhooks from paypal and allows credit card use to join, I will actually be able to build a profile :). |
