This isn't really a suggestion, since I don't have an answer, but I'm looking for one instead.

For the last few weeks, the forums have been difficult for me to use. Sometimes pages load fine, and sometimes it can take 5 minutes to load a thread or even to go back to the previous page. Sometimes in the middle of going through the forums, it marks everything as read or changes the font. When I post, I occasionally get "Server busy" messages. On most of the site pages (not just the forums) I get database error messages appearing at the bottom of the page from time to time. (No, I wasn't smart enough to copy one when it happened five minutes ago, and I'm not getting one right now.)

I'm not sure if the problem is on my end. While this is going on, I can open another window and go to other web sites (including posting on other message boards) without problems. It doesn't seem to matter whether or not I am surfing in another window or anything is running in the background. There isn't any consistency to when it is slow vs. when it is fast. It can alternate during a single session.

If I'm the only one with these problems, it is likely something on my end. If I'm not, I'd like to know. Either way, does anyone have any suggestions?

I also experience some occasional long delays in dpc pages loading, and also get "server busy" messages from time to time, and I have cable. My husband and I have figured that sometimes there are so many peeps accessing the site that the server has trouble keeping up. No suggestions as to what else it may be.

I am getting all the same stuff - I just assumed it is still being worked on.

Same thing here. I've noticed that it usually happens slightly before, on, or after the hour...maybe something to do with the score updates? I dunno...you're not alone though.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one. I'm on a cable modem as well. I finally snagged one of the error messages. (I get a couple different types, but this type is most common.) It sounds like it is an overloaded server problem.

"HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 Date: Sun, 28 Jul 2002 21:03:54 GMT Content-Type: text/html Content-Length: 80 The network is busy."

This problem seems to have popped up moreso today than earlier in the week... I have been experiencing it for a good part of the day today as well....
