Yeah I know, I felt bad for him, School supply list was 2 pages long, cost me over $100 Us.
Plus you have to provide supplies for the school, tissues, paper towels, tennis balls.... What do they do with my tax money?
Good ol' USA

It's august 25, I thought school didn't start until after labour day. Poor guy, he's getting ripped off two weeks of summer vacation. I like the walking shot, BTW.

I love these shots. especially the one of your son walking to school. Flowers, butterflys, bugs etc are beautiful, but these are treasured forever in family albums. Nice work capturing a special time in this young man's life. I thought it was only NY that made parents pay for supplies rught down to the kleenex they use! Wasn't lottery money supposed to do that?

Man, I feel for him. My daughter starts 1st grade on the sixth. The great thing is NO SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST!!! I have no clue why. When she was in Kindergarten (at another school) she had a list, but her new school doesn't. Freaked me out at first.

You are Lucky! My pre-k baby even has a list, all supplies for the school, 7 things plus her bookbag and folders.

Sorry but as one of those who lives in NY, I can't imagine that bringing kleenex and a few pens and pencils to share with children from families that can't afford them can be such a burden. We are so over-taxed here!

As a teacher, i know we had to ask the parents to provide stuff like htat sometimes because there simply wasn't "supply" money for it. We were told what we could spend, where (state contracts are a rip off), and when. Unfortunately, the places we could order from don't carry kleenex/tissues. :)
This little guy starts kindergarten for real next Monday.

It's not that I mind, but I do feel it should be an optional thing. This is the first year(thanks to my new terrific husband) I haven't had to save and beg for money for my son for school. I only make $4000.00 a year. It is not like they are being sent home to families less fortunate, anyway. The children are required to bring them even the families that can't afford them.

Very nice work. Left comments on both. He is lucky. My dd started school on August 10th and hubby, who is a teacher started on August 1st and his kids came back on August 4th. So summer was officially over at the end of July for us.
I can not get over his school supply list being two pages. Do they actually use all of that stuff? Amazing, our's was pretty short, but we also have a supply list for the Art teacher. Also, our son has a $50.00 school supply fee at his preschool. They say this way they buy everything and there is no fighting or jealousy. But $50.00
