I HIGHLY doubt anyone will pose nude for a 14-year-old, and a self portrait is DEFINATELY out of the question! Would that even be legal? AGH!

If tastefully done, it's not illegal. However I'd strongly suggest you don't. Your photo will end up on websites you wish it hadn't.

Curious that everyone seems to think the three ribbons are already a lock!!! Anyone confident they can userp ( sp?) the usual winners?

Now.....how do I convince the wife...????

For the underage crowd, this is the best advice.

Yes, the younger crowd just needs to think a bit longer on their ideas and pass up the obvious nudity and go for a more age appropriate interpretation :) Don't let the challenge corrupt you, lol.

Spoken as a Mother..................

Edited to say, add this nude photo "talk" to my STD and condom talk this week and the talk about "Nipples" before that...............
I've done a couple "where babies come from" in the last 6 months too......So I was on a roll and decided to chime in on the young photographers entries in the nude challenge!

Yeah, I believe my idea is fairly age appropriate. However, I do not intend to let my parents know about this challenge...

For the young photographers, if you do it well there is no need to show anything, or even suggest anything sexual in nature. In the last Nude challenge I was 17 and worried about submitting, but what I ended up with was in my opinion a very tasteful piece of art with emotion attached to it.

As long as we are careful there is no need for anything suggestive to be shown or hinted at. If you get it right, nobody even needs to know it's a self-portrait. If your face is not shown and the rest of the photo is subtle, it could be anybody in the picture. I say go for it but only do what you're comfortable with, of course. There are plenty of things that aren't really risky in my opinion:

Backs
Necks
Shoulders
Stomachs
Legs

All could have sexual meanings, but it all depends on how the photographer portrays them in the context of the photo.

I give out a lot of talks that I never thought I would need to.
In this case it was twin 5 year olds discovering that women could breast feed their babies, animals can too, etc. There was a small nipple obsession after that. They're very functional you know?

A few days later as I took a bath, she entered the room and says "Mom, can I see that nipple thing...........I said "Uhhhh, it's not like you haven't seen them before" and then I asked her to leave so I could take a bath in peace, she walks over first and stares hard at a nipple and says "whoaaaaaaaaa, those are soooooooooo cool". (said with the type of awe that only a 5 year old can possess)

These are the kind of things that I think happen only in my life, lol.

Yes, my kids provide me with a lot of stories!
Some of the things they say just leave me open-mouthed, speechless :)

Have you seen Big Brother 6? We let the twins watch it with us and it never occurred to me it might not be appropriate until the last time we watched it and one of the 5 year olds stood up and said "Howie likes Boobies right Mom?". I told her yes he sure does, but thats something we won't talk about away from home or with other people, lol.

You have to watch Big Brother for this to be even slightly entertaining, lol.

I watch the English version of BB which just finished last week, but I definately know what you mean! There was a contestant called Kinga who did the most unsuitable things imaginable with an empty wine bottle! (as well as getting her boobs out whenever possible!)

Mandy, I'll shoot myself if YOU will... and I'm a helluva lot older.

HEE HEE - I think we can pull it off (ok, guys, no pun intended).
