I was hoping you could give me some ideas on improving these pictures.
Thank you.

I think all 3 are good. The third one really cracks me up! LOL I like 2 & 3 best. The first one seems a little flat to me - maybe punch up the color a bit? The second is great - I can see your reflection in her eyes and I like the softer focus. The third one is just hilarious - wouldn't change a thing!

Awwwwww - such a cute little one! I really love #2 - the only thing I think I would do to it is clone that one hair from his hairline - I find it a bit distracting as I just keep looking at the photo! Awesome job! |

Adorable! You got some great expressions. I agree that the first one is a little flat, but nothing that a little color adjustment wouldn't fix. You also might want to try adding a duplicate layer and do a slight dodge & burn to it to liven up the contrasts a little. The second is very nice and I probably wouldn't do much to it at all. The third one just cracks me up! :-D

I'm moving this to the 'individual photo discussion' forum where it is more appropriate. The Critique Club forum is for discussion of the critique club only. thanks. |

I really appreciate all of the comments. I'm still such a newbie to Photography, and just want to learn as much as possible.
Pic#1: I kind of thought it looked "flat", but it was the 1st time I tried to follow Scott Kelby's CS2 book, "CS2 for Photographers", line for line. (Although, it looks fabulous on my printer)
#2: Well, "thanks" ebertdj, now that's all I can see in the picture! (just kidding) I can see how that can be distracting now.
#3: That one cracks me up as well. She is such a ham in front of the camera right now. It's a bit scary.
If you want to see more of her crazy faces, I have ~ 70 of them online:
pics
hbunch7187: Sorry. I'll be more careful where I post.
Thanks everyone. |

RinkRat - I find that I have to make two different versions of every photograph that I want to post online and print. What prints beautifully on my printer oftentimes looks flat on screen. Just my observation...

Hi Mike, I checked out some of your other pics of her and "Oh My Gosh!!" what a little ham she is!! The ones in the sink are fabulous and I especially like one from the last page (I think it's 68 of 70) That one is gorgeous. I really like your treatment on that one, plus she's just sooo cute! Really nice shots, all of them. :-)

I usually just convert to sRGB, but I guess I'll have to look at it more closely. Thanks for the tip.

<*Blushing*> Thanks Jen. I'm glad you liked them, & her. You picked the ones everyone in my family seems to like: Sink pics & Elephant pics.
I hope to be able to work as good as yours, but I know I have a long way to go. Just trying to get Exposure, Color, Composition, etc correct, doesn't leave me much time to be creative.
Oh well, thanks again.
