i beg to differe "like and dislike" are onlt a very small element on how to vote. Fitting the challenge, follwoing the rules set out in the challenge, composition, lighting, other techincals all come before like or dislike for me.
According to your theory a really nice picture of a flower that i liked should score a 10 in a dog challenge. I dont think so Tim. |

Just wait until the week is over, then you will know your score. As it is now, it is ever changing. It can go up...it can go down. Go out and shoot some pics and stop hanging on a thread.

Oh almost forgot I just voted on 100 of the entries and I remember seeing three without the year that I gave 7's to. Hah so there.

Subtract the first from the second:

| I am finding it very difficult to score this challenge. Scoring good photos high is right but it must meet the challenge or what is the purpose of having challenges. If I can't look at the photo and "see" the year they are trying to represent then I am deducting points. My $.02 |

01 if you think fits the challenge = vote on it (goto line 03)
02 if you think dont fit the challenge = vote a 1 (goto END)
03 if you like it = vote HIGH
04 if you dislike it = vote LOW
END

Not sure if others feel this way (I didn't enter the Time Capsule Challenge), but there are really some killer good shots - I mean fantastic work! Makes me wonder if some people really took a trip back in time... (and makes me glad I didn't enter! LOL)

| I've just gotten a whole series of people voting my photo a 3. If my calculations are correct, 4 people in a row just rated my photo 3. Unfortunately, none of them have been brave enough to comment why the photo is only worth a 3. |

well, I try to stop myself from leaving a comment on why i dislike certain photos anymore because most photographers just cant take it and they start PM you for being ignorant or rant in the forums. |

Heh, I knew it would bomb, but it was fun to take. Just not in the DPC manner.
my opinion on the whole title voting matter:
Never have I seen such immaturity since middle school. There should be an option on the site that allows you to turn off the titles. It would be healthy. My title has more than just the year I'm trying to capture, doesn't mean I'm going to go vigilante and vote down all the people who are voting mine down. And if I did have just the year, I wouldn't become all elitist at the fear that (heaven forbid) someone with not just the year might actually ribbon! My goodness, someone who didn't follow the rules exactly on par might get a little graphic on their profile page?! What is this world coming to?!?!
You guys all need to relax. Here's a good quote to keep in mind.
