First off, I received several comments wanting to know where my 'Falling into a Dream' shot was taken. It was taken at Snoqualmie Falls in Washington. East of Seattle off of I-90. A Beautiful place with a very popular lodge at the top of the falls called Salish Lodge.
I was anxious to try my new 8x's neutral density filter to slow the motion of the falls. Everything was going well while I was photographing at the top of the falls but it was when I went down to the base that I encountered problems. The problem was mist from the falls. It was in the air even at a good distance away. This emmediately started causing problems with my filters and I was constantly trying to wipe them off. As it turned out I forgot to bring my good lens cloth and had to resort to another one. It quickly became increasingly difficult to keep the filters clean because as I was switching between a few different ones. I knew it was a bad idea to be wiping them off so much but I didn't know what else to do, at least at the time. I thought for sure that I ruined the filters but I 'think' they cleaned up ok. I'm still not completely sure. I thought about it afterwards and realized that I should have changed the filters with the whole camera in my bag and then put the lens cap on until I was ready to shoot. I probably could have used a large clear plastic bag to put over the camera and even focused through that until I was ready to shoot before I removed it. Anyways, I learned you really have to survey a situation and be ready for anything. In the end I was very pleased with the photos but it sure could have gone easier.
I have some of the other shots of the falls I will post shortly.

Wonderful photos, Tim. I especially like this one //www.pbase.com/image/3349408
The rushing water and the green leaves create a nice and "fresh" atmosphere. It makes me wanting to be there :-)
