My family and I just got back from a trip to New Mexico. We traveled up and down the state, going from Albuquerque to Alamogordo to Santa Fe to Taos, and we visited some other small towns on the way. The highlights of the trip were the Enchanted Circle, near Taos, and White Sands National Monument, near Alamogordo, where we saw a double rainbow appear over the dunes.
Some other photos from the trip can be found in my portfolio. |

I like the tones in Pueblo Graveyard, you captured it well. New Mexicao can be a magical place at times. |

Smartypants, When you were in Taos did you happen to drive over to the Rio Grande Gorge? I hope you got a chance to see it.
New Mexico is a nice place to photograph. Born and raised here most of my life.

Smartypants is still sleeping so I'll handle this one. We did go to the gorge bridge. Quite spectacular. Here's one of her shots:

Sorry I must have not gotten enough sleep. Until I re read the post I didn't understand. Sorry for the mistake.
The gorge is nice. All be it its on a rinky dink bridge. I myself couldn't make it the the middle "look out" section of the bridge. I have heard that people have been thrown off but just rumors I suppose.
Their are lots of old buildings around that area as well and merchants (ie rug makers). Tons of stuff to shoot.

That bridge freaked me out too. I'm afraid of heights (actually, more afraid of "precarious" perches on high spots) and I was VERY uncomfortable walking out on that bridge. While we were in Red River (?) Andrea and my wife rode the ski lift to the top. I elected to stay in town and have a cool drink while walking around shooting. |

OK, hijacking my daughter's thread to post some of my own New Mex Pix here too:
Comments on the individual pix. Don't forget to look at Smartypant's shots too. |

John and Andrea very nice! I wish we could have made it back to NM, AZ and Utah again this year but things just could not be worked out.
Andrea I love this shot! You are very talented :)
