| just recently 94 Ford Exploder :) 155,000 love that truck, but the daughter needed a vehicle to drive and the husband didn't want to have three old cars in the drive. he drives a 96 Ford Ranger (just needed its first battery and alternator at around 133,000......Fords have been good to us so we went out last week and got a 2004 Taurus...was looking at a 2003 but for only $2,000 less it didn't make any sense to get a car with 15-23,000 miles aready on it when we keep out vehicles. (I'm thinking daughter #2 will eventually get this one since she is now 11. |

| My daily driver is a 1991 Twin turbo 300ZX with 140 000 miles on it. I rebuilt it myself earlier this year from the pistons up. Fairly highly modified, bigger turbos etc. 550hp. I drive a 1996 volvo 960 wagon when I have more than one of my kids with me. |

From April thru November, I use this...
for my commuter vehicle, rain or shine. 91,000 miles and counting, never a mechanical problem.

Oh cool! I belong to MD Z Club and I have a 74 260Z. However it's not my daily driver. Do you participate in any online Z forums?

I'm driving the family van (Ford Windstar) because the 19yo wrecked the front and left side and the 17yo wrecked the rear and right side. The only thing that hasn't been replaced is the roof. Anyway, the spouse is driving the Taurus now.
Here at work, we are building the 2005 Mustang, and we had an employee drive this past Saturday. That resulted in four speeding tickets, that were reported, and one wreck. Guess we won't have anymore of those drives. |

I drive a 2003 Ford E150 conversion van. With 6 of us to drive around, it was one of the only options. :-) I like it though. The kids can watch movies in the back and I can seperate the sound so I can listen to music while I drive. It also gets better gas mileage then our Kia Sephia that we traded in for it.
The hubby has a 1987 Chevy Blazer that we use when it snows here... we measure the snow in feet up here so we needed a cheap 4x4.

I knew very little about cars until I started reading the tech section on the following site.

A little like this site. If you figure out who does good work and knows what they are talking about (either mechanics or photographers) you can learn a lot by reading their old posts and studying what they have done.

Yep, that's what I do (occasionaly) on zcar.com and classiczcar.com
But most of the time I hang out at //www.got-z.comwhere very few things are really Z related, but everyone owns one ;-)

okay, so so far you get the prize for the most gorgeous car... i've always adored the old z-cars, and timeless beauty of them (though the first 300zx was an afront to all possible intepretation of taste). the one before the new one was also very beautiful; fantastic rear on that. has anyone seen the convertible of that one? I think it was only sold in japan...
after swedish and italian, japanese cars are the best. remember the last rx-7? phroar - best looking car EVER. skylines rock. always wanted a nissan gloria, just so i can say i own a car called gloria. and honda s2000's - yum! and subarus! okay, so now saab make em too, but they're so wonderful - nice yellow legacy estate with black wheels. drool.

Nice pics .. if you have your own test track you could use it to get the speed demons out of you before you head out on the real roads.
I drive my girlfriends Trek mountain bike or my Trek 2300 road bike ... to school I drive a heavily modified CCM ... I've rebuilt it from the crank up .. bigger brakes, tires, the works ... this puppy will get me (depending on the amount of sleep I had) to 30km/h in about 10 seconds !!

'98 Honda VFR 800 (two wheels for those that don't know) also called an "Interceptor" in the States. Good for 160mph! (not that *I* am...)

That is a lot of demons to exorcise! I've been driving the same 27 mile stretch of Interstate 75 for sixteen years now, and it hasn't gotten anymore interesting. The only thing that keeps my speed down is the Ohio drivers getting in the way.

Hey fellow cars nuts, great question,
I am licenced auto mechanic with my own towing business and service station,the majority of vehicles I service here in our town of 4400,are Toyotas,Camreys to be exact. and no dealer for 50 miles.'
I myself drive my customers thrown away Camreys,my latest a 88 camrey 2 litre auto. completely rusted out,but drives and runs great.has 300,000 kms on it.previuos owners just had me install new headlights,frt fenders,struts,CV axles, brakes,a CD player,all in last 2 yrs. Then one day 6 months ago when returning from there weekly water run,a 5 gallon watter jug fell out of the truck when cornering,rusted 1/4 panels. so they bought a nice 02 Camrey and gave this one to me.I fibreglassed the 1/4s,and today am spraying on a box liner kit on the outside to hold everything together.a 20-50 paint job looks good at 20 feet and 50 mph.
My son is body man and is ashamed of dads rust bucket.Oh well,he makes $25.00 a hr every day,I am self employed and sometimes make 0 for weeks at a time.
My everyday work truck is my Tow truck, a 86 Ford f-350 single wheel 4x4, 300 4 spd, with a electric hydraluic sling hoist on back,it has 1 million 2 hundfed thousand kms on it. third motor,same trans,transfer case and diffs.I very seldom use 4x4. I just installed another rebuilt 300 last month.
Question for you , I have neverd changed a timing belt in my life,how long will these belts last,the Camrey has sticker on timing belt cover that says it was changed at 156,000kms, its now 300,000. can I trust it on a 3600 kms trip in 2 weeks. |

Wish I still had my Honda not such a great cruiser it was a 650 Bros think it is a Hawk in the US, did 55K miles in 3 1/2 years as my only means of transport, wind, rain, sun, rain, and more rain... Only needed chain and sprockets a couple of times and forkseals once, never ever let me down.
Problem was I ended up needing something to lug gear around in and finances didn't stretch to both :( |

I drive a 1995 Jeep Cherokee, with 80,000 on her. She's the standard metalic green, with a simple grey interior, and the fewest features of any car I've ever seen! That said, I love her dearly and loath the very idea of ever parting.
Just had that A/C recharged, first time in 10 years. Also this year, all new brakes and muffler, both installed myself (my Uncle helped), new environmental fan control circuit, new windshield (cracked in the cold), and a new tailight (backed out of the garage into a fence - :P).
She was my dad's company car for about 6 years and when it was time for him to upgrade to a new one, we had the option of buying the Jeep for what it was worth on the company books - $1!! So I sold my Explorer Sport and got the Jeep...only car deal where I imagine I'll ever MAKE money. Learnging to drive a standard was a bit of a challenge, but now that I can, I love it. The Jeep fits my personality and I have been known, on occasion, to even live out of it for a day or two. She can haul anything and go anywhere - rugged, dependable, and classy, in her own way.

I drive an ancient Mercedes-Benz, '82 model 230E to be exact, just rolled over 300.000 km (190k miles) on it the other day.
It's getting a bit old and rusty, but still drives very easily and full of power. I have to replace some of the bodywork soon and the radiator is all clogged up. But I don't drive that much, so it's ok for me, esp since I got it in exchange for a few days work and it cost me no money. |

| 2002 AWD Mercury Mountaineer. I like this better than when I had my Discovery... except off road. It handles nice and is pretty quick for an suv. It has a built-in babysitter too... tv's/dvd/vcr/playstation/xbox. Keeps the kid quiet. :-) |

My daily driver is a Titleist!!! It gets real good air mileage, but seems to always pull to the right. But that could just be me!!!
No just kidding. My daily driver is a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Coupe. The family car. Had a 1998 Mustang with only 40,000 miles, but my 1 year old daughter didn't fit to good, so traded it in.
My wife has the fun car now. 2001 Nissan Xterra, thing goes anywhere you want it to. Just pay for it at the pump.

Mine is a 2001 Saab 93. Manual Trans. Have had great luck with Saabs over the years. They're very good in the snow which is an important consideration here in New Hampshire.
My wife's car is the fabled 1998 Saab 9000 CSE. Manual trans. Full pressure turbo and 225 HP. Awesome car and fast. I don't drive it because of the traffic ticket potential. lol |
